Great views, a bit hair raising at points if you are afraid of heights, but nothing too crazy. Interesting from a geological and botanical perspective as well. Very worthwhile overall.

What a great trail! Lots of little salamanders on the trail, and a couple snails. Once you get to the lake there’s a log that goes out into the lake, you can walk on it. Look in the water… You’ll be surprised at how many salamanders you see! With all of that mind, watch your step on the trail! Beautiful hike!

anti climactic at the end. we could not see any way to get close to the pond or walk around it even. If it's been raining, even just a day or two before you go, watch out! Slippery and a little steep on the first part up. Bring extra shoes and/or socks if you don't have hiking boots. Very beautiful scenery.

This trail is open but all trails says it’s closed? I came across this trail on a road trip 4/28/20. Lots of wildlife.. flowers but something was following me and it’s footprints were in mine going opposite direction... fox ? Small cougar ? Idk ... I Posted some photos.

Amazing hike but currently closed, went there on 5/10 and it was gated off

A relatively short, slight grade but beautiful forest scenery and pond that doesn't get boring. Definitely worth checking out.

I’ve hiked this trail three times and never get tired of the view at the end. Great combination of ups, downs, climbing and exploring opportunities. One of my favorite hikes. A bit tiring but worth the hard work!

Hiked this in July ‘19 - covered in some areas but not in others so can get pretty hot. Some tough hills but well worth it for the view!

Went there on 4/6 and was closed due to COVID-19

Solid hike. Nothing special but loved getting out. This trail was not busy at all- saw one person. The trail does note that if you are sick to stay home. It was a bit muddy at the first part, so wear closed toe shoes!

Excellent kid-friendly hike, particularly with salamanders everywhere at the lake. Some very aggressive and noisy insects at the start, but they disappeared after a few minutes. Trail is a little muddy but nothing we couldn't walk around. The bridge is still technically out but it's easy enough to cross the river below.

Rating this low because trail is super busy. Go early to avoid crowds. Trail is very easy with a bit of a climb at the end. I parked down the road to add mileage to this run. Views are pretty at the top.

This one is a must. It’s not too bad, but you are going straight up, especially the end. On top, there is a rail because it’s a straight drop off on all sides. It can be windy so be prepared. The views of the Coast Range and the Oregon Coast beaches is staggering.

Trail is not open right now, drove out and the gate was closed. I’m assuming due to corona. The surrounding area is beautiful though.

Pretty basic hike, folks. 5 just cause I love Oregon. I’ve done it in the heat of the summer and in the snow. The hike itself isn’t much if you want a challenge. If you’re a runner or at lease someone whose in halfway decent shape it’s a cruise. I’ve seen some pretty sweet views though, also it can be cloudy and you see nothing. During the summer the mosquitos are real at the top. Try something else if you want a challenge

Great trail...very little mud. Lake is accessible. You can walk out on logs that extend into the lake. Will be lots of flowers in a few weeks

When they say “hard” they mean it! Over 2 miles up hill with the last half a mile being the hardest! Well worth the work though!

Nice hike but very crowded.

I chose this trail as my first of the season, and it's a leg burner. But the views at the end are absolutely worth it. on a clear day you can see the coast, and mountain peaks in the distance. 10/10 would do again. If you like to avoid crowds, I'd get here early. By midday it was pretty crowded. It's a bit of a scramble in some areas, but there's wire mesh that really helps out.

3/17/20. Absolutely beautiful day, no snow or ice. Very rocky, definitely be difficult for those with bad knees or ankles. Many people out today, but still felt completely alone. Trail is well maintained and I'm thankful for the wire mesh to help with traction. Definitely a dog friendly trail, but all dogs today were off leash. Mixed feelings about that, but this trail is not for my dog as she had crucial ligament sugery and there's too much scramble and high step ups to navigate. So glad I left her home for both reasons. I DID pack out 5 bags of dog waste that people left on the trail..That is not how this works folks...All in all such a beautiful hike and would do many times again.
