Beautiful variety of scenery on this trail. Pay attention to signage because there are a few trails that connect and could throw you off course. Overall, great hike and would do again!

This is definitely a multi-use trail. You have to be really careful walking up and down the hills because at any moment a mountain bike could come racing over the summit. There are horses as well. I was there mid-morning on a weekday and it was already pretty heavily trafficked. But I’m giving this 5 stars because it is a fantastic little urban getaway that offers so much. The trails are also very well marked. If you’re looking for a quiet jaunt through the woods though, I’d go somewhere else.

Ground (in some patches) somewhat soft from previous rain. But you can’t beat 73’ and sunny!

It was definitely a city hike, but it was fun. I would say it was an easy hike.

I loved this trail. I hiked it a few times. Lots of beautiful trees and flowers.

Love this trail! Really pretty and mostly paved so really easy fir people with disabilities, in a wheelchair, or pushing strollers. Loved all the trees and grassy areas.

This is a good trail for hiking but not trail running. Quite a bit of incline and switch backs in the beginning, but it levels out once you reach dogwood/wildwood. Pretty flowers and scenery. Only saw 3 people on alder the whole time!

Started on 53rd. Less populated the further up you go. No incredibly steep inclines.

Probably a great trail running trail but pretty boring otherwise. Probably my least favorite trail as far as scenery goes.

A literal walk in the park.. Boring and not too much for scenery right now. Very wet and muddy!!

This is actually Powell Butte.

muddy and steep. that is all.

best time is right now in April because the trilliums are pretty thick in here.
easy and pretty.
Wetland where springs are is interesting.

Some trails are not super roller skate friendly, but this one is. I took it across the 205 bridge and had someone pick me up on the other side. It is really a very nice path for wheels of any kind. I love watching the birds and river on one side and planes taking off and landing on the other.

Good for a family hike to let the kids run and explore. Seeing the gigantic ships was awesome! There is a nice little beach area (someone told me it’s a nude beach; not sure) and picnic tables along the way. Good place for a day outing. Can’t remember if there’s bathrooms, though.

This really shouldn’t be labeled ‘Easy’. The last little part basically follows a power line and is strait down. It was pretty muddy as well, although we just had a huge rain storm. It was a great trail, though. A bit hard to know exactly which direction to turn sometimes because there can be up to 4 options and the signage isn’t that great. There were not many people, so it was nice and quiet. I would definitely recommend it, but maybe when it’s a bit drier and not for someone who is recovering from an ankle fracture =)

Pretty muddy, and difficult to navigate sometimes, but the river was beautiful!

A lot of trails here, went to the visitors center to get it right. Nice hike for family and kids.

We followed a meandering creek that just took us away...

Visiting family in the area and am amazed at how close this beautiful place is to the inner city. Great hike!

great trail when one has a few hours to hike with the great rewards of city views when you reach Pittock mansion ( that has public bathrooms and a water fountain). Try to go when the Magnolia trees bloom for an extra nature beauty treat. thisbis my go to excersise and replenish the soul hike although if you go mid day there are lots of people so try to hit the trail early so its less busy.

Pretty in spring. Follows a creek for the first section. It was pretty crowded in the late afternoon, but it was nice to see people out having fun. There are multiple trails that connect with this one, so you can extend your trip if you want. Interesting little building part way in that you can explore.

Muddy this time of year, but a nice trail. Fun little bridges. There are paper maps at the trailhead and I was able to extend this trip quite a bit. There are several trails that connect to this one. Not too crowded. Occasional urban camper; no one bothered me.

Beautiful trail along the creek. Moderately trafficked. Cool stone structure known as Witch’s Castle.

Fun first half on the trail, a lot of elevation changes and turns so it doesn’t get boring. Finishing on a fire lane back to the parking lot. Enough elevation changes to get a workout if running.

This not a true loop, but a lollipop trail. The majority of the hike is on wide fire lanes and therefore uninteresting to me. The only nice part of the hike was the part on The Wildwood Trail. Info I read said that it’s a less trafficked trail but I passed about 10 groups of people. Less trafficked for Forest Park i suppose. Enjoy the downhill in the beginning. You’ll be going up on the way back. This trail definitely falls into the moderate category but is an easy jaunt for seasoned hikers.

I loved this trail today. A little muddy in spots but overall very well maintained. The elevation change is no joke and the view from the top is lovely. Trillium was in bloom everywhere which was an added bonus!

Perfect for a walk. No dogs allowed, which is great! Park closes @ 4pm. Trails are easy and more of a walk than a hike. My girls ran, walked, enjoyed flowers, birds, trees, bamboo, and the river. Good for families with kids We will be back.

Always enjoy this trail. Parking can be tough later in the day. Nice for walking and talking with friends. Beautiful.
