Mosquitoes were terrible, but probably had a lot to do with the time of day. Gorgeous views! Great challenge for me as well because I'm trying to get some elevation gain training hikes in.

Mary’s Peak is the high point of Benton County, Oregon. There are several trail heads to Mary’s Peak so you can customize your distance and vertical gain for your ascent. On this warm day in July walking with the dog we drove to the highest parking area (forest service fee) and did an approximately 2-mile loop trail. There are meadows with wildflowers at the exposed summit. On a clear day, you are treated to views from the Cascade Mountain Range in the east, and over the tops of the Coastal Range to the Pacific Ocean to the west.

Cool trail! A little overgrown in places so wear some pants. Kids had fun!

We started at Conner’s Camp parking lot. Lovely trail. It was a moderately cloudy day, so we could barely see the ocean when we arrived at the summit. There are many options of trails in this area. We plan to go back again and try some of the others.

wonderful! my new favorite. beautiful views, good incline, and a nice way to spend an hour or so.

Great views! Easy hike with steep summit! Dogs love it

Hiked this on Memorial Day weekend - great trail! Steep (duh), and as others have mentioned there are a number of big blowdowns across the trail that you'll have to deal with. I counted 7 spots where I had to climb over, and 1 spot where I had to crawl under. No snow anywhere that I saw. Not heavily trafficked, though I did run into a couple of sets of people with dogs off leash and at saw at least one pair of mountain bikers descending - so be aware.

Great trail for families!

Beautiful place to experience a sunset!

Hiked on 4/26/18
Beautiful trail! There are some large logs you need to climb over and a few snow patches.
Absolutely loved the hike up!!

A little defeating. The parking lot removes a bit from the accomplishment of finishing. Overall tho - the hike through the forest is just as amazing at the top. Amazing trees. Awesome workout too! It's a steady incine the entire way to the top.

Loved the trail. Was 11 miles though, not 9. Steep steep steep! Some snow at the top. Coming back was very steep, narrow and snow filled, very challenging for a few hundred feet there with the snow, and so close to the edge, dangerous. Views were amazing obviously! Would recommend, great work out.

Still some snow on the trail. Snow, rain and hail on Sunday.

A beautiful place to hike for the day

Nice gradual up hill climb. Great panorama views at the top near a parking lot.

I hiked it in early March after a long series of snowstorms. Something magical about this place. I couldn’t summit due to the amount of snow near the top. This place can get significant snow accumulation.

Both times I've gone, it's been too foggy to see anything. Great trail though, lots of snow right now!

Difficult trail for occasional hikers. Moderate trail for consistent hikers. Mostly well tended pathway hikers and bikers share. Views at the top are worth the bun-burn. I find the first mile in from the trailhead to be wonderfully beautiful due to a diversity of flora and variant topography. Weekdays are blissful days to go to avoid heavy use times.

Trail is in great condition and is snow-free all the way to the summit.

This was about a perfect a day that you could wish for to accomplish this hike. Beautiful January weather and the sky was clear at the top so the views were amazing. The hike up the North Ridge Trail was a pretty significant climb but so pretty. We added on the hike up to the summit and then hiked back down to the North Ridge parking area. Such fun!

Gorgeous!

Great short hike to get your heart beat going! Slippery in some places during the wetter months so make sure to wear shoes with good traction. Partly cloudy the day we went but still good views of Mary’s Peak. Parking was super easy and plentiful. Easily marked, unlike some Oregon trails!

A truly beautiful place, but this trail is more of a walk with a big hill at the end.

No snow until after the parking lot to the summit, maybe a couple inches

Small amount of sleet after the 1 mile mark. Near the top, covered in snow/ice. I recommend snow shoes for the final .5 to the summit.

I really like the Beazell Forest... this time of the year, everything is just dripping with green moss! I started out on the steep trail going up to the meadow, then turn RT and following the trail back through the woods to Plunkett Creek, and then back to the barn.

Perfect, quiet hike. Add another mile or so to summit Mary's Peak. It was a cloudy, damp day and I only ran into 3 other groups on the trail. Lots of old trees, mushrooms, ferns. Smells wonderful. It's a solid uphill hike. I'm in shape and I felt it the next morning.

Heavily trafficked when we went, very windy up top, magical views of the Cascades and Coastal range on a clear day.
