Cool trail! A little overgrown in places so wear some pants. Kids had fun!

A little defeating. The parking lot removes a bit from the accomplishment of finishing. Overall tho - the hike through the forest is just as amazing at the top. Amazing trees. Awesome workout too! It's a steady incine the entire way to the top.

Both times I've gone, it's been too foggy to see anything. Great trail though, lots of snow right now!

Easy hike with pretty views!

Trail is in great condition and is snow-free all the way to the summit.

A nice little loop and fun historical information as well.

Upper loop has great views, bottom loop goes through a pretty prairie. The historical markers are dated but readable.

Super peaceful as there wasn't anyone there. Well maintained trails and gorgeous views!

Great hike on way to coast - perfect for taking dog out to wear them out while enjoying nice views

Absolutely loved it. There was no one up there today which made for a peaceful hike.

Heavily trafficked when we went, very windy up top, magical views of the Cascades and Coastal range on a clear day.

There are many trails at Mary's peak w/varying difficulty.

Nice hike, it gets pretty tight and overgrown on the accent to the summit and the view point. We parked by the barn, but followed the map to the next driveway down and started there, but it was unnecessary, and behind the barn has the info centers and the trail head. It was a nice loop, took us about 1 hour 30 minutes to complete.

Nice little hike if you're in the area! I drove from Salem and thought it was a little far for a short 2 miles. But it feels very secluded - didn't come across one other person on the trail which is rare!

It seems like you can drive to the top or hike to the top. The drive was beautiful, and there are many places to stop and take pictures. Once at the top, you can take a quick hike to an observation point which is amazing. Definitely will go again.

Great trail. Beautiful.

Nice views

Sunday, April 30, 2017

Was kinda bummed about the tower at the top, felt like it took away from the view. Otherwise hike was enjoyable and took a little under 3 hours with various stops and a snack on top. Views are beautiful on a clear day!

Tragically, the bare hillsides have been appropriated as unofficial shooting ranges. The entire trail (not just the hillsides) is littered with detritus from recreational gunfolk, and the noise was inescapable. Obviously no wildlife was present, not even a bird in sight.
This being said, the lookout point might be worth the short walk on a weekday when, hopefully, nobody's shooting.

Not a bad little hike. First half of loop is a nice work out for the legs.

Great Fall hike with my teenager. Nice mix of wooded areas and views across the valley. Interesting things to look at and talk about along the way.
