Great trail in South Beach that somehow in all my years of living here I’ve never been too. It’s been dry so the weather and trail condition was great. We took some of the extra spurs - the Wilder Spur connects to the housing at Oregon Coast Community College (where there is more logging roads to follow, a dog park or a nice disc golf course). The Emery trail loops around a pond.

This hike starts at Yaquina Bay Lighthouse. Please do not confuse this with Yaquina Head Lighthouse which is five miles north of this location.

9/13/2019. If I lived close, it would be a daily delight! I have not enjoyed a trail as much as this one in a while. So intrigued at this trail, but it's alot of up and down! I got a great glut/thigh workout. Neat to learn about a sand dune turning into a forest. But I only learned that downloading the free pamphlet online. posts after 10 are needing updated, and really watch your step. The roots help with getting your footing, but can trip you if you lack grace. This is a whimsical, magical, enchanting place! I wish I could donate to it.

I love this trail and views. I could see my house from up there! Great, family friendly hike....miss that place!

Our favorite, kid-friendly Trail. It circles around the campground on the outskirts in a tall forest that protects from any rain that might come. Salamanders are on the trail wet for an extra spark of nature. The south end of the trail can have mini flooded areas after rains that tall boots are best for to go through. We only do the first half if it's rained, unless we wear boots.

It provides a nice overlook of two beaches and the lighthouse. Had a great opportunity to see whales at the time as well. Trail is short, not very steep and gravel.

Great little hike scenic view of Lighthouse, all kinds of sea birds, seals, whales, and a nice cobblestone beach that makes a nice sound as the wave recedes back into the ocean. a tidal pool exploring at low tide.

Easy and nice walk to the light house and plenty to see but the smell of the birds can overpower your senses at times. Very cool to go to the top of the lighthouse.

This trail was a new found favorite and we will definitely be back and will frequent often. The description of the location of this trail stated that it is near Toledo, however it is closer to Newport (just south of Newport). The topography and scenery is wonderful. The trees gives a sense that you’re walking among the giants. Very whimsical and lots of little hobbit nooks. This trail joins with others to add to the experience and length. I would say that this trial is more of a moderate versus easy trail. There are many climbs and descents along the way.

FEE AREA. Nice walk to the lighthouse with great views. A lot of fun and well worth it.

Beautiful old-growth forest. Easy trail with a bit of a climb and a lot of roots. Will definitely do this one again!

Totally recommend this walk! Amazing views of the beaches and animals! We even saw a whale nearby! The stench is quite horrid but it goes away after a while.

Very Easy paved trail to lighthouse and tidal pools.

good hike to go on with little ones .

Great view, nice walking path with wild rose shrubs and daisies. Easy for kids to go up also.

Tide was low so easy to see the seals with the pups. Amazing views from the base of the lighthouse, too. I highly recommend this, especially if traveling with family.

when I went in 2017 it was a great outing w 1 and 2 year old :)

One of my favorite lighthouses!

Quick hike to a breath taking view on a clear day!

Great trail. Bobbi's review describes it perfectly. Side trails Emery and Wilder are both out and back if you want to add some distance. Emery puts you in a place that looks like the deep forest! A nice pond at the bottom too. Lots of roots that act as stairs throughout. Some mud, but not bad at all. My dog and I loved it. Definately will be back.

360 degree views from the top! Easy hike up the hill on a single gravel track. Worth the walk, you could stay up there all day

Great views and gorgeous old lighthouse. Simple trail

Nice views on a short trail with picnic areas available. Beach access down a steep set of stairs. The lighthouse is only open on Wednesdays

Neat lighthouse, nice views plenty of birds and critters to see. Make sure to checkout the cobble beach pictures don't do it justice.
