Explore the most popular Bird Watching trails near McMinnville with hand-curated trail maps and driving directions as well as detailed reviews and photos from hikers, campers and nature lovers like you.

Very short walk on a paved trail to an okay viewpoint and a pretty boring rock. Good signage and roadside pullout. If you are stuck in the area and want some fresh air, worth checking out. The Rock was supposedly deposited by glaciers from many states away, so there is some geology to geek out on too.

An interesting site if you like geology. Not a lot of parking, no restrooms, and while it is paved it gets steep in one short section. Great views of the valley, though. More of a walk than a hike to be honest.

nice urban trail with a nice amount of variety and seclusion for a park this size

Loved this trail and it's close to home. But no dogs? I was so excited to take my new dog here. Did one time before I read here they aren't allowed. Too bad.

my first time there and it was a nice hike. kind of easy for me but good for a beginner

Long way to go only to find out no dogs allowed

nice trail, easy walking for all age groups, pretty views of trees and sounds of nature.

saw a couple homeless camps out in the woods a few times. So I only walk with a partner, but have never been harassed.

Did a trail race out here and it was beautiful. Tough but a lot of fun. Good training for runners if you're trying to get off the roads and onto the trails. They only have porta potties and no running water from what I saw. So come prepared. No dogs.

The park has a play ground and is next to a large field, so the place can get pretty crowded during soccer season, but during the off season it makes a good place for a quiet walk. The trail isn't anything super impressive, but its got some nice views and is pretty accessible, so people with kids and beginners should feel right at home there.

A great place to go on an educational walk with your kids... There are lots of interesting critters and wild growing plants to look at. Its also just a fun place to go when you want a quiet walk through in the woods. The trails can get a bit confusing but once you get used to it, it's not too hard to find your way around.

Nice trail. Easy run, 1.5 miles. Longer if you go around the entire complex! A few dogs off leash, but very friendly!!

Well taken care of, slow grinding up hill, signage is a bit confusing at the beginning and end.

If you are in McMinnville and want to take a quiet walk in the woods, this is a good place to do it. That’s about all it offers, and you can’t enjoy it with your dog. A confusing network of trails meander through this area, weaving back and forth clearly trying to pack in as much trail miles as can fit into a smaller area. No open views to be had, just a walk through a newer forest.

This was a lovely meander through the woods with wildflowers and tons of ferns. You can make the trail as long or as short as you like, and much of it is in the shade. A lot of the walk is gentle switch backs and this is a good exercise hike/trail run or a more casual post-wine tasting stroll. The proprietors (not a state park or forest land) would like a three dollar donation for trail maintenance, so bring a few dollars with you.

Great way to spend the day. There were laminated maps at the beginning of the trail but they were a little hard to read and figure out where you were. It would be nice along the trails if they would have mile markers that correspond with the map.

Great trail(s) to have so close to town. I use it for trail running primarily, but I don’t go nearly as often as I’d like to because dogs aren’t allowed. If they were, my pup and I would likely be there every day!
Still, it’s a nice little piece of nature and I’d recommend giving it a try.

Easy, enjoyable hike. First time here but I intend to go back with some friends. Very quiet, not too crowded. We even saw a deer:)

Really lovely hike, not overly crowded. Different choices to string together a loop. In a few places you come near some houses or buildings, so not super remote, but very enjoyable. And make sure to stay in the trail - lots of poison oak!

Hiked today with my 9 year old. Easy and lots to look at. Even with the Earth day event at the main building there weren’t many people on the outer trail.

Short hike with beautiful views of the valley. Not much for parking and really easy.

We hike this regularly with 4 kids; 15, 14, 9 and a baby in a pack.

Did the outter loop today (4 miles) and it was well maintained and easy to follow. Muddy in one or two spots but nothing huge. Pick up the boards they have marked and you can see all the little creatures. Quiet little hike! I'll be back.

Nice trail through the field and woods. Muddy in multiple places, but it is March and to be expected. Looking forward to coming back

Nice short hike. No parking lot, so we parked close to the road. The hike is pretty much uphill, but there are some nice views from the top.
