Hiked half way around S. Twin & then to N. Twin and around. Not many trail markers but we found the paths OK. North Twin trail is mostly fat from the lake so there are limited views.

Nice easy hike. We had a beautiful 70degree day with some cloud. Hot springs are basic but make for a nice pit-stop. We parked at the day use area just after the Paulina lodge turn off. You can park in their too but will be an extra $5

We did 2.5 miles section from Macay campground out and back. Absolutely beautiful, follows along the creek closely sometimes then elevated above as well. Relatively gradual incline up. Made it to a beautiful little waterfall/swim hole

Started out backpacking to mink but only made it to Doris lake. Snow makes it hard to find the trails. Use a mapping app to help you navigate because it’s easy to get lost. A few spots without snow near Doris to set up tents. Made it another two miles towards the pct/mink but too much snow (3-4 feet) and no trail in site. Recommend waiting a few more weeks to access the beauty of this trail. Also lots of trees downed which you have to hop over.

Just incredible. Cant wait to do this again.

Nice easy trail to lake and then lots of places to picnic along the lake. So many birds ... loved it. Not very crowded! First hike w/o snow along Cascades Lakes Hwy...perfect day.

Nice easy trail. Well maintained. Amazing views all the way around. Took a side trail to campground so we could walk back along the lake. Added about 1/2 mile or so. Awesome campsites right on the lake. Next time!

5/22/20: Found this hike by accident when walking along the lake. Gorgeous views of Paulina Peak, the lava flow and the lake. Quiet, lollipop loop with great rocky viewpoints and a serene forest. Snow did not obscure trail.

I did this hike from McKay Crossing up and then down. Looks like this map shows someone going up 3 miles, back down to the TH, then to the lake, back down to the trailhead, and then once more to the middle of the hike. This is not a 24 mile hike. It's only a 12 mile out and back. Waterfalls all along the way at a gradual incline.

Trails are open! We entered this hike at McGregor’s observation point and completed the loop. Some of this hike is completed on a road, but it’s worth it if you want the extra miles to complete the loop. Very easy and suitable for all skill levels. Easy to social distance as well.

3/29/20 Beautiful trail, lots of snow. We brought snowshoes just in case but didn’t need them. We continued past Paulina Falls to the lake. The lake was frozen nearly solid still, and was absolutely stunning! Great easy hike for a nice day.

Awesome short hike with great views. Saw no one on the trail - good for distancing. Snow on many parts but fairly easy to figure out how to stay on the trail. Snow will likely be there for a few more weeks.

5/1/20: Did a quick 5 mi rt from McKay Crossing CG. Nice access to river, waterfalls, and a sweet cove. Parts of trail are sun exposed and has the potential for crowds when campground is open. Trail continues to falls and lake.

Great trail! Moderate climb. Would do again in a heartbeat! Lots of waterfalls and nice water features.

This was such a great backpack trip full of various scenic landscapes. Hiking through lava fields, dense forests, open alpine meadows, gorgeous lake views, moon like landscapes. This is one loop worth doing multiple times. We did it in three days.

About half the trail is icy or snowy. I started at 10ish and finished around 1pm. Brisk hike but oh so warm mid-day with the sunshine on my face. Definitely passable with a little care on the icy parts. Plan for a longer outing.

Ice the whole walk. But still beautiful

Trail was perfect! We snowshoed to the shelter and headed back. It was short, but we were running out of time. Lots of tracks to lead you and blue diamonds along the trail to help.

The trail is 85% ice. We wore micro spikes and did the 9.1 miles The waterfall was lovely. Nice day hike.
