This section is closed right now due to extensive fire damage. I haven't walked the entire trail, but it is nice. Very flat and smooth. Unfortunately, the fire did heavily affect this segment. The trail head if moving upstream to downstream is on 4770, which is also the road you take up to Twin Lakes

My favorite section so far. So the trail head sign here says the trail is "5 Miles" however, I GPS it at 4.6 Miles. I walked/jogged this section up to the next trail head and back down to the Mott Bridge, GPS said 9.3 Miles total, I think the distance measurement in the description is based around "Out and Back", when this trail is actually a point to point, with the Mott Section downstream and the Calf section up stream. Great tree cover, good views, nice trail condition.

First, this trail is still closed and I do NOT recommend anyone ignore the closure. However, the trail is still passable, if not a little sketchy in areas. The closure technically starts 3 miles in from the Tioga bridge side. I did find a forest service vehicle and crew out working on this section, so it may be opening up shortly. It's a lot of uphill and downhill, great cardio. Some very nice flat forest sections. The trail does get a bit narrow around the 3 mile point as your climbing up above the river, but not bad at all.

Sooo pretty!! Easy hike, fun, well maintained.. a must!!

This is a well maintained and beautiful trail. The path is wide and there are placards identifying plant life along the trail. It’s an easy hike (myself age 44, my husband age 46, and my parents in their 70’s) easily walked the trail without getting out of breath. There’s an outhouse and a trash can at the trailhead and the parking lot has space for at least 7 cars. We didn’t see anyone on the trail until we headed back towards the car. The waterfall is beautiful. I highly recommend this hike.

Great trail, beautiful falls!

Hiked this with my mom on Mother’s Day. Great for kids and old people. Very pretty wild flowers along the way. It was great seeing families out as well. Got lucky and got a parking spot as someone was leaving.

One of my favorites on the 138

Wonderful views, lush forest walk on edge of river. Not difficult. We walked for 30 mins in and out and didn’t see anyone. Recommend!

Closed due to recent fires.

Easy 30 minute hike to a beautiful falls. Recommend!

Nothing like relaxing in the middle of so much beauty only nature can give!

Love hiking along the North Umpqua

Not a long hike and super sweet springs

Pretty spot and we hiked up to the top of the falls too!

I wish people would heed the leash rules for their dogs. The falls were wonderful, a bit mucky in places.

Very easy hike. Wished it was longer. Beautiful falls. Spent a long time at the bench next to the falls just enjoying the scene.

Easy hike with little signs that educate you about the plant life nAtive in the area. Loved the picnic table that is right by the river just down from waterfall. There is also a cute little bridge to and rocks to climb for a better view.

Went off trail and found a great waterfall

Beautiful hike! Very easy and quick. Dogs loved it.

Easy, interpretive Trail that ends at a beautiful waterfall with large, deep pools. The dogs loved it too.

Smiokey due to wildfires but worth the short 1 mile in hike. Easy to navigate with kids.

Lovely hike and waterfall! The distance is nice for families with little ones or people that want an easy hike. When you reach the waterfall, you can get right up to it and feel the spray on your face. Which is delightful on a hot day. The only downside for me was the amount of people and trying to find parking when it's so busy.

My wife and I live just off the 138 in east roseburg. We are having a great time exploring these many trails out here in our big backyard. This one was one of our favorites. Our 4 year old son made it with us without too much complaining. We went on up to the forest service road above the falls before coming back down. There are some areas where a fall for kids is possible. keep an eye on them, hold there hand through those sections. Great fun though. We liked being able to get right under the falls and my boy liked the walk through the cleft in the rock early in the hike. We will be back to do this one again sometime.

Easy hike, very shaded, informative markers along the way telling about plants and berries. Pick nick tables right by the waterfall , very beautiful place to spend the day ! Also flushing toilets and running water .
