on Toketee Falls

Made it down to the bottom! Almost chickened out. Drove down from Seattle for an Oregon waterfall road trip. So, it would have been sad if I chickened out and didn’t go down. I’m glad I did go down. I’m not sure if I’ll do it again tho! Lololol!

Note: we went Friday July 13, 2018. The hole in the gate was fixed and extra bars to reinforced it. We had to climb over the rails and then climbed down from that.

Has a cool vibe and would recommend if you are able to make the trip. It seems there can be some sketchy people in the area, but everything was fine for us. :)

Very beautiful and worth the hike. The water falls into a gorgeous deep blue pool. There are a few opportunities to get off the trail and go down to the water. If you are able, I would highly recommend taking advantage of those areas as the views and experience is almost surreal.

Hike is appropriately listed as moderate, but it seems easy because the scenery is so beautiful it keeps your attention. Felt as if we were walking through a fairy tale book.

Really beautiful! Easy for kids. A lot of stairs!

Peaceful easy hike. Great growth and shade at the start and new growth after last years fire towards the falls. Easy access and soft trail.

This place is super crowded and the bursting water pipe thing in the parking lot is a little off putting. They also could benefit from another restroom. Aside from that there isn't anything to complain about! A short, scenic and easy walk to the falls. There were some stairs but nothing too crazy, The treehouse like lookout was pretty cool, but the view from up there was kind of underwhelming so I climbed down to the bottom, MUCH BETTER! and not as crowded. (CLIMBING DOWN TO THE FALLS IS NOT A TRAIL! AT LEAST A CLASS 3, DO AT YOUR OWN RISK) The color of the water is so blue and beautiful, The columnar jointing is awesome as well! Nice, well defined columns. This place is beautiful for sure...

Visited this waterfall today (along with Toketee, Whitehorse, and Clearwater.) This was my 3rd visit to this waterfall in less than a year (September and October of 2017.) Mist feels great on a warm summer day. Beautiful views along the trail.

Did this hike late this afternoon, my 3rd visit to these falls within the past year (September and October in 2017.) I made my way down to the base all three times. But you have to be very careful, it is quite steep from the viewpoint platform down to the river. In fact, a woman fell 100' here last week and had to go to the hospital. It was on the news: http://ktvl.com/news/local/medford-woman-rescued-after-falling-near-toketee-falls

We wanted a nice easy hike for my fiancé, our dog and I, and we got it! The trail was very clean and open, and although we didn't quite make it to Fern Falls, Deadline Falls was quite beautiful! The thing that stopped us was the poison oak on the trails since we were worried about our dog trying to get into it. Other than that, we can't wait to come back, maybe this time minus the dog.

This is our most frequented hiking spot, it's beautiful from beginning to end.

Easy hike with an incredible pay off!

This was an easy hike, but there are a lot of roots and rocks. Several stairs up and down. The falls are cool, but it would be nice to be able to get closer to the bottom without having to go off trail and rock climbing. If I were 30 years younger I would!

Did this hike on June 22 there were only small patches of snow. We were able to summit the mountain in about 3 hours, and then another 3 hours down. Going over the ridge at the top was a little scary but well worth it. There is a flat sandy patch 2 miles in before you cross the 380 forest road, there were SO MANY mosquitos there. Also we did see some big mountain lion tracks so be careful! Overall a wonderful beautiful hike!

I just hiked it this week and there is a lot of snow for the last 2 miles. It can be tricky to find the trail, but I was able to manage thanks to a previous hiker's tracks. The view at the top is INCREDIBLE, I had the whole trail to myself. One note on the road to the trailhead: it's heavily eroded and I would not recommend low to the ground cars to attempt it. When you drive it you'll know what I mean ;)

We chose to “hike” this trail to get some miles in for the day and regretted it half way in. The lake views are beautiful, but half the trail takes you away from it through a mosquito infested forest. When you come back around towards the lake you’re basically walking through people’s campsites and it feels a little odd.

Did this yesterday 6-14-18. The road to the parking area is dry and clear, but there are some deep tire tracks to watch out for. The trail is clear until you get above the tree line. I was able to get over/around the snow in my trail running shoes. However, when I got to the ridge after what I refer to as “the window” looking at Diamond Lake and Thielsen, the snow piled up against the rocks and over the trail seemed too dangerous for what I was wearing. I would say July would be the best time to start this one if you’re not into snowshoeing, etc. The views were spectacular and the trail is very well maintained. I definitely recommend it. Bring plenty of water because the incline is gnarly the closer you get to the top. Happy exploring.

Short and sweet. If you're into chasing waterfalls like I am then this one should be on your bucket list. You won't regret it!

Loved this hike! Was so easy and we ended up jumping in the water by the falls!

really beautiful waterfall

It was such a beautiful trail that runs through a lush forest. Basically had the whole trail to myself except for one other person. The falls are beautiful, too!!

Beautiful falls and fairly straightforward hike to get to them. Some elevation and climbing, and a few narrow parts where we couldn't go 2 abreast. Our 5 year olds did great with it; held their hands for much of the hike to ensure safety. highly recommend!

Awesome hike. Easy and dog friendly. It was a little crowded but I’m sure that had a lot to do with the fact that it is Memorial Day. There are a couple of mildly steep hills towards the end but overall a great and relaxing hike.

Great short hike to some amazing views. The parking was a bit tight on a busy holiday weekend. I’d suggest not bringing a dog since the trail can get a little congested. The view points were amazing and breathtaking. Stairs placed throughout the trail with railing which was nice. Toketee lake is a 1/2 mile down the road. Didn’t know it was their prior to going. Pack a picnic lunch and eat by the lake campground or day use area.

Great Hike with spectacular views on the summit. We did it in early May and the snow was still pretty deep(obviously) and so we wore our mountaineering boots and just slogged up it. We brought snow shoes too but found that just the boots worked best. At the top the trail drops around to the left of the false summit and you have to traverse some slightly sketchy snow field we brought ice axes for this part and kicked steps in. We stayed up on the ridge on the way back down, but be careful of the cornices! They were pretty large and looked ready to go. All in all it took us about five and half hours to summit and another three back down. You could probably do it faster but we were carrying training weight. I'm knocking a star off due mainly to the snowmobiles that drove all the way to the summit and then spun circles around it. Quite obnoxious and sorta ruined the serenity of the mountain top that I crave.

awesome trail. easy hike with kids and dogs. very pretty waterfall.

Very pretty no doubt! BUT VERY BUSY!!!! dont bring ur puppies so many ppl.. lots of stairs..

Beautiful short hike. The water running along side the trail was worth it alone, but the falls were amazing! Great short stop off the road.

Beautiful, albeit a little buggy.
