A nice climb up to the summit. The snow is almost completely absent from the trail at this point.

Like the previous report mentioned, there are a bunch of mosquitos, so be prepared. We also saw the same tracks in the snow, didn't realize they were mountain lions though.

Tourist trap. Beautiful waterfalls but too crowded

My wife and our 5 kids, ages 16-2 1/2 to Yakso Falls in August 2018. As others have said, it is a long drive, but I think it was worth it as there is a campground with a day use area and another set of falls right next door. The hike was easy for everyone including our 2 year old daughter. The falls were not gushing, but still had plenty of water coming down and the pool at the bottom was crystal clear. Two of us jumped in and swam in the pool, which was freezing cold! Overall, a very nice hike with a beautiful waterfall at the end. 4 Stars only because the drive up the gravel road is on the long side.

All those writing about hopping the fence to go see the waterfall should know that a young man did that and apparently fell to his death today. The fences are in place for a reason....stay on the trail and view the falls from the observation area.

Great family hike. If you can climb over some rocks and loose gravel you can go straight to the base of the waterfall.

Loads of stairs, I’m no fan of the heights. If you have a fear of heights, you might want to stay off this trail. There are several other nearby waterfalls where you are on land the whole time, half of this was on the edge.

Good hike. The .6 is pretty much straight up from the parking lot but you can get right under the falls if you want to! Cool place to see! Follow all of our adventures on Instagram @themicrotourists

This trail is pretty cool and super short. You also get views of the river most of the way. Unfortunately you have to hope the fence to actually get down to the waterfall. Otherwise cool and easy. Worth your time. Follow all our adventures on Instagram @themicrotourists

This trail has ALL OF THE STAIRS! I think the sign at the trailhead said something like 97 up and 120 something down...
I was a little disappointed to find that the trail takes you to an observation deck. To get down to the falls, you have to climb over the metal fence and railing to a steep, rocky path that is not part of a maintained trail. The way down looked doable if you have good balance (I watched a group of 5 do it) but I’m not so sure about getting back up. I didn’t trust myself for the descent or ascent so there was that.
The view from the observation deck is beautiful and there is a bench.
The parking lot has a lot of garbage and toilet paper in the trees and bushes despite there being one vault toilet available for use.

Pretty easy hike, just has a lot of stairs. I didn’t climb down to the bottom though

It's fun to find the 3rd tallest waterfall and then see the 2nd on hwy 58 (Salt Creek falls). Watson Falls is a short and relatively easy hike with a great end result.

Worth it. 10/10 recommend

The whole trail and especially the waterfall are magical! Definitely worth the climb!!

Love this hike. Short enough you can enjoy other hikes in the area.

Absolutely amazing!

Bring your camera! Hike was considered "easy", but FYI there are a lot of stairs and uneven surfaces.

Beautiful hike. Did this hike on 7/21 with my family including an 8 year old and a three year old. I carried the younger. We made it very close to the summit but after the window/keyhole it got pretty sketchy with the little one so we turned around about 200 yards after the window. Bring lots of water, there is no where to fill up. My dog had a tough time because of the heat. She is in excellent shape but with black fur she was constantly hot and looking for shade. In hindsight I would have let her sit that one out even though she hates watching us leave without her.

Hiked this on 7/21 with my wife and dog. starts off in peaceful forest. Gets rockier the closer to timberline you are. Above timberline, you are awarded with a crater view, false summit, and incredible ridge walking. In hindsight, trekking poles might have been useful in one or two loose spots along the ridge. There is a scramble move required, about a 3 or 4 foot ledge to lift yourself up on. Overall the views from above treeline were fantastic. Bring water and snacks. I would recommend this hike and am looking forward to doing it again some day.

One of my favorite hikes, especially in the Fall.

Amazing hike. It has views of crater lake, diamond lake, Mt Theilson, Theee sisters, Mt Shasta. There is a cinder cone and a key hole at the last one mile of the hike. Do carry bug spray. Hiked on 4th if July weekend.

Great trail and a lot of fun

Good family hike, fairly easy and not a ton of elevation gain. Easy for adults and very do able for kids

Made it down to the bottom! Almost chickened out. Drove down from Seattle for an Oregon waterfall road trip. So, it would have been sad if I chickened out and didn’t go down. I’m glad I did go down. I’m not sure if I’ll do it again tho! Lololol!

Note: we went Friday July 13, 2018. The hole in the gate was fixed and extra bars to reinforced it. We had to climb over the rails and then climbed down from that.

Has a cool vibe and would recommend if you are able to make the trip. It seems there can be some sketchy people in the area, but everything was fine for us. :)

Very beautiful and worth the hike. The water falls into a gorgeous deep blue pool. There are a few opportunities to get off the trail and go down to the water. If you are able, I would highly recommend taking advantage of those areas as the views and experience is almost surreal.

Hike is appropriately listed as moderate, but it seems easy because the scenery is so beautiful it keeps your attention. Felt as if we were walking through a fairy tale book.

Really beautiful! Easy for kids. A lot of stairs!

Peaceful easy hike. Great growth and shade at the start and new growth after last years fire towards the falls. Easy access and soft trail.

This place is super crowded and the bursting water pipe thing in the parking lot is a little off putting. They also could benefit from another restroom. Aside from that there isn't anything to complain about! A short, scenic and easy walk to the falls. There were some stairs but nothing too crazy, The treehouse like lookout was pretty cool, but the view from up there was kind of underwhelming so I climbed down to the bottom, MUCH BETTER! and not as crowded. (CLIMBING DOWN TO THE FALLS IS NOT A TRAIL! AT LEAST A CLASS 3, DO AT YOUR OWN RISK) The color of the water is so blue and beautiful, The columnar jointing is awesome as well! Nice, well defined columns. This place is beautiful for sure...
