on Toketee Falls

Made it down to the bottom! Almost chickened out. Drove down from Seattle for an Oregon waterfall road trip. So, it would have been sad if I chickened out and didn’t go down. I’m glad I did go down. I’m not sure if I’ll do it again tho! Lololol!

Note: we went Friday July 13, 2018. The hole in the gate was fixed and extra bars to reinforced it. We had to climb over the rails and then climbed down from that.

Very beautiful and worth the hike. The water falls into a gorgeous deep blue pool. There are a few opportunities to get off the trail and go down to the water. If you are able, I would highly recommend taking advantage of those areas as the views and experience is almost surreal.

Hike is appropriately listed as moderate, but it seems easy because the scenery is so beautiful it keeps your attention. Felt as if we were walking through a fairy tale book.

Really beautiful! Easy for kids. A lot of stairs!

This place is super crowded and the bursting water pipe thing in the parking lot is a little off putting. They also could benefit from another restroom. Aside from that there isn't anything to complain about! A short, scenic and easy walk to the falls. There were some stairs but nothing too crazy, The treehouse like lookout was pretty cool, but the view from up there was kind of underwhelming so I climbed down to the bottom, MUCH BETTER! and not as crowded. (CLIMBING DOWN TO THE FALLS IS NOT A TRAIL! AT LEAST A CLASS 3, DO AT YOUR OWN RISK) The color of the water is so blue and beautiful, The columnar jointing is awesome as well! Nice, well defined columns. This place is beautiful for sure...

Visited this waterfall today (along with Toketee, Whitehorse, and Clearwater.) This was my 3rd visit to this waterfall in less than a year (September and October of 2017.) Mist feels great on a warm summer day. Beautiful views along the trail.

Did this hike late this afternoon, my 3rd visit to these falls within the past year (September and October in 2017.) I made my way down to the base all three times. But you have to be very careful, it is quite steep from the viewpoint platform down to the river. In fact, a woman fell 100' here last week and had to go to the hospital. It was on the news: http://ktvl.com/news/local/medford-woman-rescued-after-falling-near-toketee-falls

Easy hike with an incredible pay off!

This was an easy hike, but there are a lot of roots and rocks. Several stairs up and down. The falls are cool, but it would be nice to be able to get closer to the bottom without having to go off trail and rock climbing. If I were 30 years younger I would!

Short and sweet. If you're into chasing waterfalls like I am then this one should be on your bucket list. You won't regret it!

really beautiful waterfall

Beautiful falls and fairly straightforward hike to get to them. Some elevation and climbing, and a few narrow parts where we couldn't go 2 abreast. Our 5 year olds did great with it; held their hands for much of the hike to ensure safety. highly recommend!

Great short hike to some amazing views. The parking was a bit tight on a busy holiday weekend. I’d suggest not bringing a dog since the trail can get a little congested. The view points were amazing and breathtaking. Stairs placed throughout the trail with railing which was nice. Toketee lake is a 1/2 mile down the road. Didn’t know it was their prior to going. Pack a picnic lunch and eat by the lake campground or day use area.

Very pretty no doubt! BUT VERY BUSY!!!! dont bring ur puppies so many ppl.. lots of stairs..

Beautiful short hike. The water running along side the trail was worth it alone, but the falls were amazing! Great short stop off the road.

Amazing. A must see!

It was my first time in years sense I’ve been there. It was even more beautiful than I remember. It was my three dogs and myself that went. Found some pretty cool areas just around the falls as well. :)

nice, easy hike in. no snow but a few spots of minor mud but ends with breathtaking view of the falls.

After you reach the bridge continue on for a short distance and up a pile of rocks/small boulders to a beautiful view right at the base of the falls. It was so icy (beg of Apr) be very careful!!!

The moss! Amazing power from that water falling. Smooth walk, not too much traffic, a little snow (March) but not cold. Can lower to base with ropes. Great for kids and dogs.

The pool! Can climb down with rope. Stairs super well maintained. About 100 steps up and the same down. Clean, bathroom setting at trailhead. Went in March, no snow, not cold: just perfect weather. Tons of water.

Great quick and easy hike to a beautiful waterfall. Stopped on the way to Crater Lake and it was totally worth it. Check out video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GcRCOVhdvhI

Heavily trafficked trail. Family friendly and pet friendly. Well marked and easy to find. If you make the drive all this way, I recommend visiting some of the other waterfalls along Hwy 138. Clearwater Falls and Whitehorse Falls are along side the road and do not require any hiking to see them. Watson Falls (the 3rd tallest waterfall in Oregon) is about 2-3 miles round trip. Umpqua Hot Springs is also proximal, but be prepared for nudity if you decide to stop by.

One of the best waterfalls I've been to but very heavily trafficked. If you are feeling adventures you can go off the trail and climb down some steep rocks to the bottom of the waterfall. Since it's such a short hike you might as well take advantage of the Umpqua hot springs a few miles down the road after.

Beautiful and easy stroll to the view point! Dog friendly, and our pup loved it!

Heavily trafficked, yet easy trail. Did this trail early November, 2017. The view of the falls is gorgeous. We went off trail and climbed down (not recommended, but very amazing). Steep scramble down the side of the rock. Big safety risk.

This place is so beautiful.. easy trail and worth every minute. The waterfall is breathtaking.

It's the most beautiful hike in the fall! The colored leaves are endless and frame the falls so perfectly.

Really nice hike. It is rated "more difficult" due to the over 200 steps on the path (each way), but it isn't very hard at all if the steps don't bother you. The steps are well maintained and there are easy places to stop and rest along the way. The waterfall is absolutely gorgeous, and the entire trail is picturesque.
