Great Hike with spectacular views on the summit. We did it in early May and the snow was still pretty deep(obviously) and so we wore our mountaineering boots and just slogged up it. We brought snow shoes too but found that just the boots worked best. At the top the trail drops around to the left of the false summit and you have to traverse some slightly sketchy snow field we brought ice axes for this part and kicked steps in. We stayed up on the ridge on the way back down, but be careful of the cornices! They were pretty large and looked ready to go. All in all it took us about five and half hours to summit and another three back down. You could probably do it faster but we were carrying training weight. I'm knocking a star off due mainly to the snowmobiles that drove all the way to the summit and then spun circles around it. Quite obnoxious and sorta ruined the serenity of the mountain top that I crave.

awesome trail. easy hike with kids and dogs. very pretty waterfall.

Very pretty no doubt! BUT VERY BUSY!!!! dont bring ur puppies so many ppl.. lots of stairs..

Beautiful short hike. The water running along side the trail was worth it alone, but the falls were amazing! Great short stop off the road.

Beautiful, albeit a little buggy.

Amazing. A must see!

It was my first time in years sense I’ve been there. It was even more beautiful than I remember. It was my three dogs and myself that went. Found some pretty cool areas just around the falls as well. :)

nice, easy hike in. no snow but a few spots of minor mud but ends with breathtaking view of the falls.

Hiked this tons. Always a favorite. Last time I came it was closed. It must be reopened now. I was shown a cave off this trail a few summers ago, don’t know if I could find it again. Love the bridge at the entrance. Nothing beats North Umpqua hiking!

After you reach the bridge continue on for a short distance and up a pile of rocks/small boulders to a beautiful view right at the base of the falls. It was so icy (beg of Apr) be very careful!!!

The moss! Amazing power from that water falling. Smooth walk, not too much traffic, a little snow (March) but not cold. Can lower to base with ropes. Great for kids and dogs.

The pool! Can climb down with rope. Stairs super well maintained. About 100 steps up and the same down. Clean, bathroom setting at trailhead. Went in March, no snow, not cold: just perfect weather. Tons of water.

Great hike! we went Wednesday 3/28/18 & it was absolutely beautiful!

First time on this trail. Some ups and downs but not bad. Little muddy in a few spots. Nice photo op. Well worth the trip.

Great trail! unfortunately went in August so the falls was just a trickle. So if you're hiking for the falls, you'll be disappointed! They are very small in comparison to the beauties further north on Hwy. 138!

Took my lil guy on this hike which made that incline quite the challenge. But the scenery and trail were amazing had a lot of fun.

Loved this trail. There’s definitely one hill that will get your heart pumping, but, the rest of the hike was mild and enjoyable. The trail is well maintained and followed the creek all the way to the falls. We really enjoyed the beauty of the forest and the waterfalls. Great way to spend an afternoon!

Great quick and easy hike to a beautiful waterfall. Stopped on the way to Crater Lake and it was totally worth it. Check out video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GcRCOVhdvhI

Heavily trafficked trail. Family friendly and pet friendly. Well marked and easy to find. If you make the drive all this way, I recommend visiting some of the other waterfalls along Hwy 138. Clearwater Falls and Whitehorse Falls are along side the road and do not require any hiking to see them. Watson Falls (the 3rd tallest waterfall in Oregon) is about 2-3 miles round trip. Umpqua Hot Springs is also proximal, but be prepared for nudity if you decide to stop by.

One of my favorite waterfalls off of Little River Road. The trail head can be difficult to find if you have never been there before. The trail head is across the road from Lake in the Woods. You will see a sign designating a hiking area but there is nothing that specifically states you are at the Yakso Falls trailhead.

I highly recommend doing Hemlock Falls while you’re here. The Hemlock Falls trail can be accessed from the Lake in the Woods campground.

One of the best waterfalls I've been to but very heavily trafficked. If you are feeling adventures you can go off the trail and climb down some steep rocks to the bottom of the waterfall. Since it's such a short hike you might as well take advantage of the Umpqua hot springs a few miles down the road after.

Ok old growth trees

Absolutely an amazing hike! The dog and I had a great time. I found it to be just as enjoyable as Susan Creek or Fall Creek, maybe a bit more. We didn’t meet any other hikers until we were about halfway back to the car.

had a great day trip and my 4 year old and 2 year could make most of the trec. 2 year old gave up on the way back due to the hills

Heavily trafficked, yet easy trail. Did this trail early November, 2017. The view of the falls is gorgeous. We went off trail and climbed down (not recommended, but very amazing). Steep scramble down the side of the rock. Big safety risk.

Beautiful trail with just enough uphill to get your heart pumping. The falls are spectacular with several great viewpoints. Giant moss covered boulders give it an ancient feel. Never disappointed with this hike.
