Nice sandy trail, only did the lower lake because my friend was having back issues. I'll be back to do both at some point.

Definitely a busy trail but we were glad to get in the water after a full day of hiking.

Trail is closed past Ponytail falls due to damage from the fire. :-( You can only do the half mile up and down from the trailhead. They have a gate set up that won’t let you go further and you can see the trail is washed out by little rocks. The half mile is great for families with kids and dogs! Beautiful falls you can get up close to and rocks you can sit on to view at the top.

might as well walk along the shoulder of the highway. wall to wall blackberries. paved, 10' wide. Very little views.

Small little trail that I have done for about6 times . I love it. My dog loves to chase the ducks we just enjoy the beautiful nature.

Hiked this today, by 8:45 there were already 7 cars but we saw people sporadically. Took us 5 hours but we also did the side trail at the top towards Broken Top. It was a nice cool day so the inclines were easier, too cloudy to see most of the mountains but BT stayed visible most of the hike. I’d take both my kids and dog on this hike but they weren’t with me today. Got to chat with a ranger and a few visitors. Even with getting rained out at the end and not much mountain visibility, this hike jumped to my favorite today. I’ll definitely be back more than once. Be prepared for some elevation, if you take the side trail you’ll hit 8k easy.

Very tough hike that rewards you with great views on top, checked it off my bucket list. Hiked mountain on 8/20/19 because of possible rain on the 21st. The trail surprised us before teardrop lake because the trail was just a climb up the mountain, really no trail just a scramble. Climbing up the spine was difficult because of The steepness and the loose lava rock. “Definitely a grind to the top but well worth the effort. The descent was equally tough as the climb up the mountain. Definitely bring plenty of water and be aware of weather conditions for clothing requirements to be comfortable on the hike. Make sure you are in climbing shape before attempting this hike, not for the beginner hiker.

Good trail easy to follow. A few rocky areas, but easy to traverse. In the first mile or two there were some wet spots, a little muddy, with lots of bees swarming around. They were not aggressive. Fish hatchery is 2.76 miles in, trail is a little hard to follow when you reach the road, but if you stay to the right, you will find it easily. There are bathrooms and water at the fish hatchery.

Tried to make it up before the storm but got shut down at the lake along with everyone else and their dog. Really great hike up until that point. I think I'd hike camping gear to the lake and then summit in the morning to be fresh for that last bit next time I go up.

Beautiful hike! The trails were well kept and the views were amazing! I hiked on a Tuesday morning and it wasn't super busy so I felt like I had the whole trail to myself. I loved everything about it!

Very easy and well maintained trail. Some great scenery and bridges across the creek. I’d recommend doing the Tumalo Creek trail as well as it goes along the creek and has some beautiful spots and places for the kids to skip rocks or climb across fallen logs.

Well trafficked trail that gets dusty. It is a difficult hike back up, but definitely worth it. The water is amazingly clear up close, and the views of the water from the trail are awesome.

This trail was great, relatively easy, the only downside is there are a few brief moments where you are walking directly through peoples campsites. It does run alongside the highway, so there is some highway noise for a portion of the hike, but it isn't extremely noticeable except for loud vehicles. Overall, a good way to spend an afternoon.

For a relatively short hike, the views on this one are spectacular. The inclines are definitely inclines, but there are some great stretches of flat trail throughout to catch your breath. While we didn’t on this hike, once you’re at the top, there’s additional trails to explore, most of which are relatively flat. We’ve had great picnic lunches below Broken Hand. Highly recommend this one!!! Also - for those with kiddos, my 7 year old did this one. He’s done other hikes in the area (including Black Butte), but it was totally doable for him.

Beautiful hike, but the trail is closed for maintenance half way and you can’t complete the loop. Still an amazing hike with an incredible view of my hood. Very busy on the weekends, less busy on the weekdays in the summer. Not surprising when it’s sunny and warm.

an amazing hike!! we did it in one day -- started at 9:30, got to the summit at 12:45, hung out on the summit til about 2 and then were back at our car by 4:30. the trail is super tough -- bring food and water -- but so worth it!
