what a great walk.. it has some residential streets and very beautiful trees and river views..

It was a decent hike. It was only 1.8 miles instead of 2.8. Not sure where the extra mile went! :P

Definitely steep but worth it! Be prepared for stone stairs at the top. I’m more out of shape so it took me a few rests any my trekking poles. Well maintained and a great Saturday activity.

Really pretty for a noon walk, but I kept coming upon homeless shelters under the shady trees. Wouldn't do it again alone.

Amazing views! Difficult trail is a lot of fun and has great scenery, easy trail has nice flat surfaces and plenty of stairs.

This is a must see view from the top. The main trail is easy, The west side trail is Hard and steep do not bring small children on this trail. Great hike!

Love this hike! It is showing 3.7 miles up, and 3.7 miles back, for a total of 7.4, so I am not sure why this says 5.7

Awesome hike

One of my favorite hikes in the Willamette Valley. Been up here 4 times in 3 years. Always took the longer route from the northern trailhead but this time parking lot was full today so went to the southern trailhead. Surprised to find much larger parking lot with outhouses and better signage. Probably take this trailhead from now on as it seems to be the main trailhead. There are 2 different routes, one only 0.7 miles but very steep and one that is less steep and meets up with the northern route before ascending.

Today I took the steeper route and it was a blast for me. There was quite a lot of scrambling on rocks and boulders near the top. Definitely not kid or pet friendly. And I doubt I could go down it as I’m more of a hiker and not a climber or scrambler. Took the longer but less steep route back down and that one was very easy.

The views at the top were pretty good though hampered by some wildfire smoke, so could not see the Pacific but was able to see Fernridge reservoir and Eugene and Mount Pisgah.

People who live in Eugene are very lucky to have such a wonderful spot with 360 degree views right on the outskirts of town. I wish Salem could develop trails like this!

Beautiful hike on a perfect day. Hubs thought we were going for a short hike but we ended up going all the way to Spencer Butte Summit

Great trails. Website needs improvement. Get rid of Facebook tie to maps, inexcusably complex and time consuming. It will greatly improve everyone's experience!

Well maintained path for walking and biking.

Great walking trail with kids! The ducks were a plus and the toddler loved it!!

Excellent hike
Starts ver easy in the sunshine!
Gradually get harder before reaching the top.
Fantastic 360 panoramic views.

Love it and the view is amazing! I made the mistake of going without having eaten (hypoglycemic) and got lightheaded and a bit sick with the elevation increase. It's not an easy trail but it is not at all impossible. Beautiful!

I was here on a Saturday, plenty of parking at 9a but lot was filling up when I left. Trail was well kept. I took the path to the top and at the peak it wasn't immediately obvious where the trail continued so I just went back the same way. But really cool view.

Family friendly, lots of nice doggos, lots of people.

Great views!

super eas quick trail. great for kids

Nice when I want a flat surface, although it’s quite dusty. Fairly exposed.

Agree with other recent review. There are signs when pulling in saying to lock your car and must admit did see what seemed to be sketchy characters in the area.
Ok hike. Good for a workout.

oh ya I

Nice trail! Mostly well maintained except the southern rim is along a gully where it’s getting rough. The recorded starting point is North Trailhead where there’s no parking pay station at the parking lot. Just less than a mile away to the right at the main parking lot (West Trailhead) , there’re pay station and bathrooms.

Stunning view and worth the hike!

Watch your stuff- high crime area. I love Mt. Pisgah, but after my car got broken into & I lost stuff it makes it a less fun place.
It’s also become a college kid hangout these days for some reason- they swim in the polluted river here!

For a moment away from the city and yet in the city...this is the place! We like to bike this trail in late May/June when the ponds are hopping with life. There's so many places to take a moment and enjoy the life around yoh!!

Took trail 1 to the summit, and came back down via 36 and 3. I found trail 1 to be steep, not particularly scenic, and just kind if lackluster. the view from the summit is pretty nice, but not as nice as Spencer's Butte, which is a prettier hike too, albeit far more trafficked. At least there weren't many other people (and I was there in a Sunday afternoon) but there are also lots of trails that are unmarked, and thus kind of confusing to stay on the one you planned.

Worth going once, but unless I go with someone who knows the area better than I, I probably won't be going back. to be fair, I haven't explored the arboretum yet, which I'm sure is pleasant enough
