3.9 Miles is the trail length according to my phone. Took me about an hour and 20 minutes to complete. Good trail but if given the choice I’d do the section 36 loop trail any day over this loop trail

As others said, quiet and pleasant.

the name of the park is actually forest dell park. Nice easy loop with lots of mature trees and big leaf maples. Great spot for birding. I’ve seen many woodpecker species, nuthatches, brown creepers, and even a Great Horned Owl.

awesome so many trails

Overall, another great hike in the McDonald Forest. Only downside is that the majority of the hike is on forest/fire roads. I recommend taking Roads 600/680/700/790 to the top as there are signs at most intersections to point you to the top. However, grabbing a free map at the trailhead is a good idea since there are many trails in this area. Alternatively, you can take Road 770 from the Homestead Trail, but you need a permit to take the Southridget Trail which is in the Starker Forest. This hike has a steady incline no matter which way you take up providing a great workout. Nice bench at the summit to sit on and enjoy the view out over the Willamette Valley.

Very nice hike with a steep.incline but such an amazing view.

Lovely hike with my 2 grown kiddos and 2 dogs. The lake was small, but beautiful and peaceful. The dogs romped around in the water for a bit. I rated this hike only 3 stars because 90% of the loop was on a gravel road. We were under tree cover the entire hike and the trees were pretty along with birds chirping!

Nice short hike!

This was a bueatiful trail for me and my dog. We took the shorter option since it was my first time on this trail. I only wish the map had the you are here pointer so I could navigate myself better (I got directions for the shorter route from another hiker).

This was a great early morning hike! Definitely be sure to grab a Forest map at the parking lot as some of the markers are confusing. I ended up tacking on part of the Powder House trail to make it longer and it was a fantastic addition.

used to love hiking here during college. fun place to play on the bike and walk the pup

Great loop trail. Shaded the whole way and there are a lot of other trails that branch off of it. Dogs allowed and wasn’t very crowded (5pm on weekday). Great way to escape heat In summer. Highly recommend.

Great trail and stroller friendly

Did this trail this morning, started at Homestead and took trail 770 upto the small side trail to the peak. Once you start on trail 770 is is a steep incline. Side trail is even steeper but brief. Great views and more for a workout then views on the way. Other trails are more scenic to top but enjoyable and I recommend.
Grab a map in the beginning, trails can be confusing.

Most of the hike (that we ended up on at least) was on a big wide gravel trail. It’s doable but definitely took some breaks to catch our breath with the elevation rise. Beautiful view and even more beautiful coming down looking out west! Would do again

great hike peaceful and the lake is beautiful can't wait to go back and explore the rest of the trails

We loved this hike. By no means easy, so we call it moderate. If you like the off-beaten path and nature, this is a great hike.

Good hike with great views at the top. Well trafficked road so you don’t feel secluded but still a good hike.

I will be back to do this one again! There are many ways to reach the summit. We took the back way where the old barn is to your right. This trail is more narrow, steeper, and was inundated with flies. The larger path back down was far more open with a gradual incline and softer ground. The trails are well maintained and clearly marked. I won't lie, it was rough for a larger girlie just getting back into hiking, but the view was well worth it!

This is one of my more favorite hikes in Corvallis. It is a little bit longer than others but the feeling of remoteness when you get near the top is awesome. The final hike to the top on a steep single track is very memorable. And like most of the Corvallis hikes, you can do this during winter and fall as it always seem like there's less rain than in the Willamette valley.

Spent Sunday hiking up Bald Hill. It's a beautiful and peaceful area. I am just working on getting back into shape and into hiking, so cresting the top of the bill was most difficult for me, but definitely not so hard that I'd never do it again. Got a great workout, and saw some beautiful scenery and wildlife.

This trail is nice for beginners-moderate hikers because there are multiple cut offs that all you to make a loop as short as about 1.1 miles to as long as 3+ miles.

We ended up going the up hill route and it was beautiful and painful. Great work out. Follow the more worn path, instead of what Alltrails suggests. It will be a more useful climb that way.

great trail for a sunny day. if you take the extendo trail to the 600 road you add a couple more miles to the loop and stay off the fire roads for a portion of the hike. the peak is also accessible from the soap creek parking lot.

great trail. huff and puff at the top.

Did this hike a couple of weeks ago. It is a nice afternoon activity. It was moderately busy. Dogs are allowed off leash. My fur baby loves the water!
