great hike peaceful and the lake is beautiful can't wait to go back and explore the rest of the trails

Good hike with great views at the top. Well trafficked road so you don’t feel secluded but still a good hike.

I will be back to do this one again! There are many ways to reach the summit. We took the back way where the old barn is to your right. This trail is more narrow, steeper, and was inundated with flies. The larger path back down was far more open with a gradual incline and softer ground. The trails are well maintained and clearly marked. I won't lie, it was rough for a larger girlie just getting back into hiking, but the view was well worth it!

This is one of my more favorite hikes in Corvallis. It is a little bit longer than others but the feeling of remoteness when you get near the top is awesome. The final hike to the top on a steep single track is very memorable. And like most of the Corvallis hikes, you can do this during winter and fall as it always seem like there's less rain than in the Willamette valley.

Spent Sunday hiking up Bald Hill. It's a beautiful and peaceful area. I am just working on getting back into shape and into hiking, so cresting the top of the bill was most difficult for me, but definitely not so hard that I'd never do it again. Got a great workout, and saw some beautiful scenery and wildlife.

This trail is nice for beginners-moderate hikers because there are multiple cut offs that all you to make a loop as short as about 1.1 miles to as long as 3+ miles.

We ended up going the up hill route and it was beautiful and painful. Great work out. Follow the more worn path, instead of what Alltrails suggests. It will be a more useful climb that way.

great trail for a sunny day. if you take the extendo trail to the 600 road you add a couple more miles to the loop and stay off the fire roads for a portion of the hike. the peak is also accessible from the soap creek parking lot.

great trail. huff and puff at the top.

Did this hike a couple of weeks ago. It is a nice afternoon activity. It was moderately busy. Dogs are allowed off leash. My fur baby loves the water!

Baby cows too.

Nice for a quiet midday hike.

Great moderate hike. Saw a wild turkey and wild flowers. Directions are accurate. Left me wanting to explore the many other trails in that area.

Woodpecker Loop Trail is one of my favorite trails at Finley. It's short, but very beautiful and enjoyable. I like to hike all the way around 1 way and then turn around go and hike it in reverse. Doing that, you'll get about 2 and a 1/2 miles in. Great trail, good mix of trees and open sky. Lots of wildflowers in the spring and early summer.

My new favorite trail! Relatively easy hike — first quarter flat, second quarter up hill, third quarter flat and last quarter downhill. Lots of grassy space on top with 180 degree views from the Cascades to Mary’s Peak. Heard an owl hooting on the lower wooded section.

I took this loop to learn about 100 different native weeds, flowers, plants and trees. The trail has quite a bit of poison oak, best to stick well to the trail. A stream and 2 ponds (1 with a bench) are along this trail so good chance to spot frogs. Of coarse, this is a goodly place for birding.

decent trail. I usually end up way off coarse due to the trail being short. I combine other trails/ roads to try and get my goal of 20 miles a day.

Beautiful trail. Not to difficult even if you’re out of shape. A few good hill climbs, but overall gorgeous and very fun

Good trail. Decent amount of people. Not really what I expected, but was still fun. Wouldn’t do it again but glad I did it!

amazing forest. nothing beat being in between the trees with snow all around. Sure made for a fun trip up that steep hill full of snow.

Challenging at times, listened to owl talk to me and enjoyed the snowy view. I took a wrong turn and feel signage could be better. I will go again later Spring as too much snow closer to top. Lots of creek access for my lab so she was happy. 4 star because lack of signs.

Great views and a fun, challenging hike. Took me about 2:40 minutes to finish, I would have been quicker if it wasn’t for the 6” of snow on most of it! Crazy end of March weather.

Great place to walk the dog and get some exercise. Beautiful on a sunny day but Thursday there was a rainbow across the little valley and I did not have my phone to take a picture! Trails are still muddy in the shade.

Great trail! We did have to park across the highway because there’s only 4 spots.

This was fun hike. Was a little steeper in places than others said it was. That being said my family of 5 did this hike in a couple hours.

love the Allen Throop loop but I usually add it to Mulkey creek trail and start at Oak Creek side of bald hill. Cardwell hill I did'nt enjoy as much as these.

horseback riding

Majority of the riding is on gravel roads. We found ourselves passing trail after trail closed to horses. I didn’t like being confined to the gravel. This is not a good place to ride. Loading and unloading is right on Hwy 99. This should not be listed for horses

Very happy that the people who use these trails clean up after themselves and their animals.

First off its impossible to get lost. The loop basically climbs in elevation and loops the ridge. It was helpful to keep my app on hand to check how the trails connected. This is not aggressive riding but still very enjoyable. We were able to find some grade and water crossings to challenge our animals. I would recommend this for a good day ride. You could easily return for several trips and find new routes. Riding clockwise be aware the last stretch back to the start is on the paved road, approximately one mile.

Great trail with great elevation gain.
