Did the “loop” for scouts definitely longer than 12 mi. We cut off the corner through campus and was still 12.5 miles. Nice paths and walk.

This trail is nice and easy hike, one of our favorites. We do it with a 3 year old and 7 year old. It’s in great condition and if you look closely you’ll find Salamanders up at the lake.

Really great trail! Lots of cover from the trees, although be prepared for some muddy spots. Lots of other people on the trail, but not crowded. Beautiful views at the top. No bathroom at the trailhead.

Awesome hike through one of Oregon’s forests. This is a great trail in the network of trails up here. I would rate it easy though, rather than moderate. The trail is well maintained (one of the best I’ve seen, actually) and kids can definitely hike without having to worry about scary drop offs or ledges. I could have brought a jogging stroller . The only issue I can see is mud, and hiking after an Oregon rain. So avoid that and you’re good to go. We saw huge slugs, small black squirrels, a huge uprooted tree where you can study the roots, a pretty little lake (saw blue gill and salamanders swimming around), several small creeks and bridges, and wildflowers. Overall, a fantastic place to stroll through one of Oregon’s great forests and while away an afternoon.

For years I’ve wondered what happens if you just head north from WinCo. Answer: you end up at Chip Ross Park vía a thin trail and (at one point) somebody’s backyard. On my day it was classic Oregon sprinkling and I got wet legs from the tall grasses encroaching on the trail. Once was enough.

Trail was maintained nicely, a few muddy spots, moderately trafficked and dog friendly.

Flat and not very exciting but paved and good for a drizzly day. If it’s dry you can do more exploring at Bald Hill.

A simple boardwalk loop. It’s not a hike for exercise but a place to walk and chat.

*trespassing is required to follow this trail* two years ago, I took this path to Dimple Hill from Oak Creek, no problem. yesterday, we arrived and oddly didn't see this trail on the official forest map. odd. but i proceeded anyway b/c I knew the trail from two years ago. then after 1 mile and much of a climb, we reach "no trespassing" signs... so both of the trails that go to dimple hill require you to trespass. we turned back and tried to follow the (more boring) logging road, but it was *way longer*. go to dimple hill from dan's trail, not from here.

Beautiful, moderate, on leash dogs, lots of biking trails.

My hubby and I enjoyed the hike. We will be back again. Most people respected the C19 guidelines... thank you. Found a great spot for our snack break with a peaceful view.

This trail is part of a beautiful local trail system. It takes you along cow pastures in a peaceful oak savanna. There are paths to make a longer loop or an out-and-back or connect to Fitton Green. The trail is gravel so mud was not an issue.

Access Update: Still Closed due to COVID. 23 April 2020

Didn’t get to hike, closed because of virus

Still open to socially distant hiking. More of an easy than moderate trail. Starts off level then elevates for maybe 1/4 mile. Beautiful prairie, mostly wider trails, good for most beginners.
