A nice, 3mi casual hike with some lovely falls. Close to portland. This is one of my favorite quick hikes. Tip: if you do the full loop clockwise, and wind up back at the road, cross it and follow the path. Don’t walk the road. Blind curves, no shoulder and you’d miss the beautiful falls right before you get back to the parking area!

Very fun hike! Not too steep of a hike up that is just enjoyable. A wonderful hike that works your thighs and calves well.

This trail was much more rocky than I anticipated. I wish I would have worn my hiking boots instead of my trail shoes. No shade on the final third of the trail. Some large rock areas that were a little more difficult with 40 pounds of toddler on my back!

I’ve hiked Angel’s Rest no less than 75 times over the years yet never ventured to Devil’s Rest. The hike was easier than you’d expect for 3200’ of climbing and a really good snapshot of some of the Eagle Creek burn. The forest is regenerating slowly and it is pretty amazing to see its growth. While the hike was pleasant, Devils Rest does not hold the same magic as Angels Rest. Basically it’s a rock with limited views and not worth it IF you’re going just for a view. The hike is worth it if you want to hike 10.5 miles and climb 3200’ though! Oh... and if you’re the gal with the star tattoo, we hope you found your path back to the car.

Not busy this weeknight in September;)

Angles rest can become slightly crowded but devils rest was one of the most secluded hikes I’ve been on. The majority of the views were at angels but devils had some great “deep forest” feels to it. Also, if you go with your girlfriend be carful because she may start to get grumpy around 2600 vertical feet. I believe that is where they tend to reach their “vertical limit” and shortly thereafter give you look of why the hell am I in the woods with this guy... Bring snacks and offer them to her around this point to quell the anger. Fruits work well but baked good such as cookies and pastry’s are best.

On the way up was great. Unfortunately on the way down we got caught in the rain. Gets very slippery

It’s really pretty, but it’s hard to find this hike. They have tons of them over there! So I went down like 2 before I settled with one that I felt comfortable taking my toddler on. Not sure if it was the correct one. Also you have to pay to get in and also I asked the girl at the entrance if there are obvious signs for hikes and she said most definitely. I didn’t see one.

It’s a great short trail for kids and a slower paced group. Needs more signs. Great photos!

This was mostly an old gravel road.

Crowded up to Angels Rest, but clears out toward Devils Rest, tho trail overgrown. At the latter, where sign says trail ends, believe it; trail goes for a bit then dead ends, so some backtracking required to make a loop.

Tourists are finally dying down

Awesome view at the top. Moderately challenging going up, but worth it at the end. Would highly recommend.

Glorious day hike!

Steep hike, but definitely worth it! The hike is pretty short. Less than 30 min out and back.

I wouldn’t call this a hike. More like a short walk to the falls. It got a bit slippery right by the water. Parking can be tricky. We found a spot down the road and walked to the trail head. Spent about 30 minutes total walking around the falls. Once you see it, you’ll forget any frustrations you found while parking. It’s beautiful.

Busy weekend morning but still a great hike! Nice elevation gain, nothing too difficult. Keep walking once you get to the top to find a quieter place to eat a snack and rest!

i definitely shouldn't have done this for the first hike, but glad I did. I'm sure I'll feel it tomorrow. :)

Great hike, fairly steep but worth it. Nice waterfall and stream crossing. The fork at the top is easy to miss. Extra parking up the hill from the main area.

It’s a gorgeous hike with beautiful views of the falls. I got there early morning, so I got parking. The trail little steep in some places but is mostly flat. There are multiple views of the falls, upper and lower and what a clear view of the falls. If you are just interested in seeing just the falls, it’s a well paved flat path to the falls 5 min from the parking, it’s to the right of the parking. This is a short hike, so you should be done in 50 min more or less.

Amazing view!! However, you will have to work for it as the entire trail is at a pretty steep incline. Also, come early as the parking lot fills up early. We arrived at 8:45am and the main lot was full. So, we drove to the overflow parking and found a spot. By the time we got back down the whole mountainside was covered with cars. Also, coming down the mountain was not as pleasant with heavy foot traffic, so I’d say it’d be ideal to arrive right when the trail opens. Also, don’t forget to take your shoes off and put them in the stream after your hike. It’s the best feeling EVER!!!

One of my favorite hikes in the Gorge! A definite leg/butt toning hike, a good incline up to the top, but once there such a gorgeous view! During winter sometimes the view is obstructed from fog. Very popular hike so go early if you don't want crowds. My smaller dog loved this as he is part mountain goat, however did need to pick him up at one point near the top. Haven't been in a couple years so this review may be off a bit

fair to moderate is a good description. a little rocky but manageable even in trail sandals. The loop is longer than 2 miles. I stopped at Hwy 30 and just walked up the road to the trailhead and it was 2.29 miles.
