I've hiked to Punchbowl Falls several times and it's a great hike. The trail is currently closed due to a fire a year ago. When it opens, I want to continue up to Tunnel Falls which I think turns it into about 11 or 12 miles. Heavy traffic on the weekends.

One of my favourites. Continued on up to Tunnel Falls with my boyfriend back in 2015. Good memories on this hike. Sad to see it is closed?

Only available to cars now.

loved this trail. see the top and bottom of a beautiful waterfall. excellent Cliff perch sections on upper trail

Did this hike back in January of 2017 and it was icy and slick which made the trek harder than it would be in the spring or summer months.

One of my favorite hikes. Took my 2 and 3 year old on it with me right before the fire in 2017. My 3 year old hiked the whole way in and out. Had to pack my two year old for part of the way. Trail is pretty narrow at some points with steep cliff on one side. Saddened the fire destroyed so much.

Super busy summer seasons the years before the fire. Kinda gross anticipating it eventually getting thrashed. I loved swimming out into the bowl. Did it during a thunderstorm once in the spring and the water was all warm and fresh. If the trail ever opens back up it’ll turn into a theme park for hipsters. So I guess just be the only person strong enough to bring a cooler full of IPA and sell can’s for $8 a pop, donate some dollars back to the Forest Service and make a profit while you remember better days in the PNW ;)

This is one of my absolute favorite hikes. Though, with some of the sketch drop offs I've yet to take my kiddo, I can't wait to share it with him. This is definitely in my top 10 hikes.

My all time favorite hike. But it has gotten so crowded in recent years. I visited here just weeks before the fire closed it in 2017.

Very sad. But can’t wait for it to reopen.

my very first trail in Oregon

Beautiful hike

This is the easiest and maybe one of the most beautiful trails in the gorge. Hoping it opens back up soon ❤️

One of my favorite ever hikes- So sad it’s closed! Feels like another world being surrounded by huge amounts of moss and greens while in a valley between the rock. Ugh. Absolutely love it. The falls at the end are worth visiting a thousand times over.

This hike is mostly flat making it “easy”, but visit in winter and be prepared for an adventure. It was exhilarating and terrifying at the same time. Imagine a very thin cliff trail of ice chips with icicles falling as you hike and cling to the side of the wall. It’s beautiful! Like Fern Gully. There were times I thought we might die, but only because of the heavy ice.

Closed. You cannot get into the park. It's blocked off by cones because of the fire. I tried to sneak in but was stopped by the park patrol. He said it isn't open until March.

Nice easy trail with great views!

This is probably one of my favorite hiking trails. I've taken my daughter (4 years old) with me multiple times and she loves it as well. I highly recommended this trail to anyone, and it's great for kids.

I used to love this trail but it's way to busy now.

Very Beautiful trail, (at least it was before the fire) :( Managed to do the hike to Elowah Falls in Crutches so that was a challenge to me, probably not a big challenge to someone with two good feet

Have done multiple times. One of my favorite falls in the gorge

Absolutely beautiful and easy

Beautiful waterfall !! Took the grand children ( 5 7 and 10) there, and it was a very easy hike for them. Have gone there about 6 times and it is a great hike on a summer or winter day.

Quite a busy trail but still beautiful and not too tough for an afternoon. The views along the trail and at the falls are well worth the small crowding.

This was an easy-going, quick little hike, with a massively beautiful waterfall at the end. I went on a weeknight between 4-6, and it was pretty crowded. Not recommended if you are looking for solitude, but worth the trip. Little work, for a big reward.

Always one of my go to hikes.

nice short walk. not to much of a climb. however there is tons of children, dogs, and people in general. Also you can hear the interstate the whole walk which was a downer.

It was a great, short hike.

Favorite waterfall hike so far in the Columbia river gorge. Easy hike but does have some steep narrow areas that have a railing. Large swimming hole. Not crowded on a Friday afternoon.

We only did the first fall. It was a short and fairly easy hike in a wonderful forest with a great waterfall at the end. Very enjoyable on a hot summer day
