very nice trail. The main asphalt path through the lava flows disappears at times and you have to walk over the lava flow to connect to the rest of the trail. Would have finished the reason but I came across a wolf and decided I was done.

I did this hike last month in the beginning of October. It was absolutely beautiful and sunny out. Today however (11-19-19) was very wet. There were patches of about a half inch of snow which was lovely to see. It was very peaceful. I did not complete the hike due to my jacket getting drenched. Thought it was waterproof but apparently not!

it was a nice hike today 11/9/19; magestic view of the surrounding mountains.

11-9-19 made it to cirque lake no problem. Some areas of snow pack (especially near upper meadow) but not enough to take out the micro spikes. Google maps took us the right way on NF1234. Road is is decent condition.

Lucked out on a really warm day in November. The trail wasn’t crowded at all, dog friendly, and the 360 degree views were breathtaking. The road up to the trail head was awful. Would not recommend with a normal car. Other than that this trail was awesome, perfect views of all the surrounding mountains.

Great warm day for a hike. The dark brown soil is soft on the feet. Views of Three Fingered Jack, Jefferson, and Black Butte on the trail, peekaboos of Washington and Sisters. Couldn’t do hike to Cirque due to ice pack, need micro spikes. Trail to Wasco Lake had >25 fallen trees on path and very muddy. We’ll be back in the summer!

From North TH took Larch trail to South TH, then a small loop on Fir trail and back. Linked trail is slightly off. Larch trees still colorful. Very peaceful. Thought we saw cougar tracks, elk scat.

I didn’t do the whole hike (with the bit where there is more of a view and maybe a meadow) and regretted it ☺️

There are bathrooms at the trailhead. I don't recommend going this time of year because it was super cold! Even with winter wear, we literally sprinted down the section from the peak to the first switchback. Biting wind and red, cold, burning fingers (we WERE wearing gloves & hats too). The peak itself was less windy, but still pretty breezy. The bottom has more tree cover, so was better in that regard. Honestly there were some nice views of the Sisters and Mt. Washington on the way up, even before the windy section & peak. The towers (historic & active buildings) at the top were pretty cool.
