I was able to take my 5 year old on this trail with no problems, though he's an adventurous, extremely active kiddo. He struggled at times on elevation gain, and we kept an eye on him as there are always drops... The hike itself is beautiful, I absolutely love how green the gorge is, and this hike is beautiful. You have options to kick off to see other waterfalls, but Triple Falls is absolutely amazing. My family likes to go past the falls, over the bridge, and there's a little area there to have a snack, lunch, play a game, or just chill.

Visited during thanksgiving weekend. Beautiful.

Love this hike and miss it. Last visit was July 14, 2017

Gorgeous trail! I've done it a while back, bummed that it is closed now. Still a gorgeous drive, and its worth going to see the falls

Trail is still closed but the falls are beautiful.

We hiked this trail in March 2017. It was strenuous going up. Bring plenty of water and protein food. It was worth it. Stunning views at the top. Watch out for people with dogs. They should not bring dogs on this trail.

The Oneonta Falls are CLOSED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE due to the massive Columbia River Gorge fire of 2017. Please check the link below for updates.

They opened the bottom platform- might be the only chance you’ll get a picture of the falls without someone standing on the bridge haha
Awesome falls, 3 stars only because hike isn’t open yet :(

Beautiful view of the falls but trails are closed I heard till April. Sad I didn’t get to do the hike!

Fantastic hike, gorgeous in every way, waterfalls, lush greenery, flowers, mushrooms, moss, all that's missing are the little fairies :) Took us about 5-6 hrs, just what we needed.

does anyone know someone to contact for a reopen date of this trail?

Its closed and fenced, but you can still see the waterfall

Miss this place

This is my favorite trail!

I can’t wait for this trail to open again!

When we went, there were a lot of people there so it was impossible to get a photo without others in them. Very beautiful though

Get up there early or you'll feel like your on the I-5 during rush hour... Otherwise it's a pretty decent view from the top which, after so many times I try not to take for granted.

This was my first more serious day hike, my only downfall was being the first person up there in the morning... So many cobwebs to walk through....

The trail was closed due for safety concerns so we weren’t able to go past the gift shop. Hopefully it opens again soon but it wasn’t worth the drive to see the falls through a chained gate at the bottom of the trail.

quick and easy trail that was extremely crowded when I went. parking was also difficult.

Main viewpoint is closed due to fire damage

is it closed?when will be open?

Oregon is such a beautiful state. Amazing hike and also easy. We even had dinner near the falls at a little restraunt from the bottom of the hike. So gorgeous and the scenery was worth seeing. recommended for all people!

The main viewpoint doesn’t require any work at all, but beyond that the trail becomes steep, but the view is worth it. The trail was relatively quick as well, and I was able to go to a few others.

My sister brought me here the day the fire started. Was really beautiful and popular as well. So glad I got to see this then.

Long but steady hike. Nothing too steep on this hike but it is all uphill. Take your time on this fairytale trail :)

trail running

Beautiful views and nicely designed trails make this one of my favorite trail runs of this year. I did this counter clockwise which I recommend because the initial climb features tight switchbacks which I personally prefer to ascend. Careful on the descent as you get to Multnomah Falls as foot traffic is heavy there

This trail is closed until 2018 per USFA due to Eagle Creek Fire

Same complaints that I have with Oneonta Gorge. Waterfalls are beautiful, and the place is a real treat during the winter months. During spring and summer there are too many awful people.

I wish I could give this 5 stars. The falls and the gorge are absolutely breathtaking. However, it is way too crowded. What makes you think everyone wants to listen to the rap music playing out of your portable speaker? It reverberates throughout the entire gorge. Did I also mention the stench of cigarette and weed smoke?

Bottom line:

If you want to party and socialize, come here during the warmer months.
If you want to actually enjoy this place properly, I suggest coming here during winter.
