4 points for the hike itself, but 2 for ease of following. The hike is gorgeous, but the places it diverges from the PCT are not marked and involve some steep bushwalking. The trail description should point this out.

Did it twice this year in the month of July. I believe Soda mountain road (to get to the pct ) is closed. So don't waste a trip out there! Beautiful hike with lots of views

It was a perfect day to be out on the trails, and everyone was out enjoying the beauty of Oregon .

Fun trail to run with some decent climbing and roller coaster twisty turny switch backs. We went on a Tuesday morning and had no trouble with the trail being crowded but I could see it being an issue with lots of bikes on the weekend. Great trail for off peak hours.

Take note, the part not on the PCT is part ski slope descent, part creek ascent, and part bushwhacking. I'm disappointed this is presented as a trail.

Easy to moderate trail in the spring and summertime. My pup loves it best.

This would be a nice hike if it weren't for the rude and dangerous mountain bikers. It is called Toothpick for a reason, very narrow often with no room on either side and the bikers come flying down the hill not even having the decency to tell you there are others behind them. Definitely not good for taking your dog.

I have little respect for these bikers.

Easy to moderate, well marked trail. Spectacular 360 views, perfect place for a picnic. No snow mid-May 2018. Great reward to effort ratio!

Very interesting drive. The 1st 10 miles no trespassing signs everywhere you look. Once you got higher snowparks everywhere. Quite a few lakes around as well. First time I had seen Lake of the Woods. Came back out 140 with even more lakes.

This is a beautiful area, but not great for hikers. There were multiple groups of mountain bikers and we had to be constantly be ready to jump off the trail. If you’re a mountain biker, this is a great trail!

Did 05/27/18 I think it’s closer 11.5 miles though.

A few muddy spots in spring, but a great hike for kids (ages 5 & 9) and leashed dogs. Flowers, mountain views and butterflies this time of year.

this was an awesome Trail did not realize how stupid was close to the top but we managed with a toddler screaming at us the whole time LOL

Always stunning views!

This hike is listed as "year round" I went there today, 4/2, and there's about 2 feet of snow...

lots of bums and drug addicts. plus it's paved next to a highway. fuck that i prefer the mountains away from all that

Very hot in August! Great for biking!

Nice letter box surprise at the top!

So beautiful! The weather today was perfect for this hike and the views were breathtaking. Pretty easy hike with a few inclines but nothing to difficult. Narrow trails which makes passing people with a dog a little difficult but it wasn’t too busy early in the morning so it was fine. Beautiful hike, I’d definitely recommend it.

Definitely the busiest of the Ashland Watershed trails that I've hiked, and by busy I mean the most people I've ever run into is probably 10. I have to agree with Deborah Dols in that heading out on Lamb Mine is awesome and beautiful and pretty untrafficked. Check it out!

great view on top

The road leading up to the trail head is super snowy right now- my car (which isn't AWD) couldn't make it.

This is a great hike with an amazing view at the top!

The trail is fairly narrow but easy to navigate. Once you detour left to go to the actual bluff, the trail isn’t marked as well, but once you are at the top you can explore a good bit. We spent an hour at the top just hanging out.

It connects to the famous Pacific Crest Trail, so that’s an added bonus.

I have done this Trail several times, usually from Highway 66 via PCT but this is very peaceful hike. Awesome views from the top of the bluff!

This was a beautifully scenic short hike! Extremely blustery conditions which added to the overall. Only one incline in the last quarter mile. Amazing views at the top!

Gorgeous hike today with A-mazing views of Shasta. Trail was only partially snow covered and I made it to the shelter easily with waterproof boots.

We did this hike on a beautiful January day. Gorgeous views, nice trail, and easy hike. Will plan on coming back in spring to see the wildflowers.

Hiked early December, ran into a lot of snow in different places. It was a beautiful hike with many views of Shasta! As you depart from the PCT, the trail isn’t marked and we trekked through about 6 inches of snow. I assume it would be easier to see without ground covering. The hike back down was also not noticeable as there was snow. Looks like it was to go down around the ski slope, but wasn’t completely sure. Ended up turning around and going back the way we came. Fairly easy hike for an experienced hiker. Traveled with one, inexperienced hiker who had quite a bit of difficulty.

Awesome day for this beautiful hike. Not a lot of traffic. Would love to do again and take the PCT to Mt Ashland.
