My Favorite Running Trail by far!!

Well paved trail both east and west of Hunter Park. I usually park at Hunter and take the west trail all the way to Riverside trail. Makes for a very long walk if you're building miles for more remote and/or strenuous hikes. Wild persimmons and squirrels along the trail. 10 foot traffic wall running along the north side blocks traffic noise. A few small turns with some low hills, so keep eyes and ears open for cyclists (as with any trail) who might not see you in time. Wooded on the south side so shade available in spots. Water in/water out at Hunter park as it is the only facility.

Not a bad walking path. Long and hot in the summer with very little shade or places to stop and rest.

Nice place. Not overly crowded.

No way to say this was a hike unless you do the full thing. I only did a couple miles and was easy breezy. It has a nice view of the river.

We loved this trail. It was a peaceful, relaxing, and leisurely walk with our little dogs (who also loved it). The pond/lake had a couple of “scenic outlook” spots for decent picture taking. We will be back.

Need to get some hill work completed in Oklahoma? This is your spot. Train like Camille Herron and be great!

Good place to get some miles in on pavement. Not super scenic but getting better every year!

Great trail for biking, running or walking... with that said DO NOT follow the directions off this app to get there, it is inaccurate. Go to River Park located at south Agnew Avenue near the split of the 40 and 44 freeways; or park at 2021 south Robinson avenue where Wiley Post Park is located.

Likewise we never saw a restroom near the trail but we only completed a small portion of it.

I took my kids with me to this trail. It was a nice day although it was kind of windy, but that’s Oklahoma for you. My kids were on their bikes and I road my longboard. The trail itself was fun to be on but the area was sketchy. There was a lot of trash on the trail. People in the bushes camping/living made it uncomfortable for me when they’d come out of the bushes out of no where. Some other sketchy activity going on. I would go back by myself but I wouldn’t take my kids.

Personally I felt uncomfortable here. I pulled up and there were people in the trees staring as if I was going to bother them. For the little bit of this trail I did do, we came home with no ticks (so far) which is good. I won't be returning to this trail, just had a bad vibe.

Nice hike. I walked the portion going southeast from the round pavilion. (I made a false start on the nature trail nearby.). On the MKT trail heading toward the railroad trestle you can look out over a part of the lake and river with great views of wading birds. I saw a great white egret and a great blue heron. I also saw a beaver or muskrat lodge. I walked out on the trestle maybe a third of the way to the end. I got spooked and turned around when the wind picked up. By myself and no phone service and too easy to misstep and break a leg. A previous reviewer mentioned no warning signs but there was a concrete barrier today so you can’t accidentally ride s bike off the end into nowhere.

Great place for walking, running, biking and roller blading. So heavily trafficked it feels safe. Only drawback is lack of lighting, making it very hard to do early morning runs.

Scenic and not crowded. Very nice trail for a bike, a walk, anything to get you moving.

a nice flat walk. good for running, biking, walking and other non motorized vehicles. some nice farmland to look at and not far from stores if you need to stop.

Nice long trail. We walked along Lake Overholster Drive from NW39th to NW10th. Sidewalk the whole way with the exception of walking out on the skinny strip of land that makes the little kayaking area. I would not consider this a "hiking" trail, it was a walking path through a park. Still nice though, I was just hoping to be a little more out in nature. We will probably go back when we're looking to walk a little bit of distance.

Took the kid and our dogs. Had a great walk, mostly shady so that was nice because it was hot. No bug issues at all. Met Friendly people.

I ran it but it’s road running not trail. Beautiful morning run before they let the cars use the road

I have lived here for almost two years and just discovered this gem. Always heard about it, driven over the bridge a million times. I hiked the trail today, sort of. I don't like sidewalks so I hiked lakeside as much as I could! Lots of nice places to sit and rest. I'm a fan! I will be back alot since it is so close to home!

5 yr. old: my favorite part was all the trees and the lake. The walking trail was super great!

quite a bit of trash and heavily trafficked

Loved the scenery, great for dogs.

One of my favorite places to ride. It starts on 10th and council and connects all the way to the OKC river where you can continue all the way to the boat house with dedicated trails and loop back for a 30mi ride if you choose. This section here is around 8mi each direction. It’s very secluded with lots of dress and is very nicely maintained .......hope they keep it up!
They are continuing to develop it making more access points all along the trail for people who live in different parts. You pass a couple of nice lakes making the hole trip very rewarding.

on Mount Scott Overlook

Great views. It’s a nice drive up but hiking isn’t to be had here.

Head across the road by the lake for a moderate hike. It gets a bit dicey in the winter and months following ice can still be on the rocks so be cautious. Also bring extra lighting if you go anytime in the fall. It gets dark and fast.

Great trail with plenty to see. Nice beginner trail for families who are starting out with hiking.

Mount Scott has a beautiful view. I definitely recommend the drive up (for everyone). Next time, we plan to hike up the Mountain.

Just an FYI…. As of Dec 2017 the Mt. Scott Road is open to foot-traffic only (pedestrians/bicyclists) from 6 AM to 9:30 AM. Group size is restricted to 8 persons or less and users must remain on pavement until sunrise. From 9:30 to sunset, the road is open for motorized travel. Pedestrians and bicyclists will not be permitted to walk/bike road after it is open for motorized travel.
