Nice option for a hike with dogs. We saw 2 people on the trail and everyone was friendly.

I’ve walked the trail to the north and the SW service road and both are neat but otherwise boring. I mostly go walking off road into the refuge itself. Far more to see, some awesome trees to be found and the occasional deer, turkey, or pig can be seen. Overall not a bad spot, needs to be burned to clear out old dead tree litter and leaf build up and get more food for wildlife, but being so nestled in the city that’ll never happen. Waterway is popular with kayakers and paddle boarders.

Across the street from my neighborhood, I use the garden and nearby park for running and walking the dogs. The gardens are very popular with photographers and Pokémon Go players.

HOLY TICKS!!!!!!!!!!! This place is festering with ticks; I would not walk this trail by any means again. Found about twenty small ticks and two large ticks after hiking here

quite a bit of trash and heavily trafficked

Well maintained mountain biking trails!

I experienced that lost labyrinth feeling - very interesting

It was definitely a bike trail, not for hiking with dogs. I would go bake to do x-country or mountain biking. No water by the trails but a mile down the road you can find the lake. Watch out for the ticks, I found a couple.

Nice varied trail, mild elevation change but more than I would have expected from OK. Well shaded, beautiful green forest setting and packed sand trails. In 2 hours only saw 1 polite mountain biker, but did see a deer! Lots of back and forth trails. I used my GPS and don’t think I could have done it without. Overall, great trails for the area and worth the drive from Norman.

One of my favorite places to ride. It starts on 10th and council and connects all the way to the OKC river where you can continue all the way to the boat house with dedicated trails and loop back for a 30mi ride if you choose. This section here is around 8mi each direction. It’s very secluded with lots of dress and is very nicely maintained .......hope they keep it up!
They are continuing to develop it making more access points all along the trail for people who live in different parts. You pass a couple of nice lakes making the hole trip very rewarding.

We had a good time here and the trail was beautiful and maintained.

Always a good ride. Nice trails. Construction adding good stuff.

Dirt road with no elevation changes. Good shade from the trees though - better than some of the sun exposed paved biking paths.

Crazy amounts of ticks. My husband and I had 7 on us and found 2 in our car after so be careful. Trails were pretty flat and very in and out, but had some fun obstacles.

Farm road or never taken care of path. Had to chase away a turkey which was awesome.

But all and all wasn’t that good

Great for biking/walking

Pretty awesome trails, a little hard to follow on which one your on, they need updated trail maps onsite

Best trail in central Oklahoma it makes you feel like your by the the sea side with a harbor filled with friendly people and good restaurants what they need to do is put hotels by the lake.

Will probably not go back again. Lots of litter...
I did not feel safe going this alone...

The trail is not very visible at all and towards the end I mostly just walked the service round on the edge of the forest.

Running at the lake can be one of the best or worse places depending on the wind. If it’s remotely windy you will feel it all at the lake. I’ve ran around this lake 3-4 times a week for the last decade and it’s a nice place to exercise, sail, or go to a restaurant. I wish it had better restroom facilities, but if you really need better than a porta potty you can go to Louie’s or Lake Hefner Golf club. Lake Hefner connects to Overholser over by MacArthur and Britton and Nichols Hills on Grand on the east side of the lake.

I love walking around the wall that surrounds most of the lake. I feel safe being out in the open and there are trash cans to discard poop bags.

This is a well designed trail that is lots of fun and challenging! Some new areas are under renovation now but it looks like it will be awesome.!

Trails aren't well marked. Fun for a morning hike but may mot come back out. More geared to bikes but was a good hike.

We took small children with us, and were able to have a small umbrella stroller for the youngest. The non-paved trail intersects often making it convenient for us to take the older one for more adventure. Very easy trail.

poorly maintained. very hard to tell which trail goes where.

easy lots of greens

Couple stars earned for the distance and occasional peaceful spots of scenery, but overall pretty underwhelming and boring. The first mile and change of the trail also has exposure to local road and aircraft noise.
