The trail can get confusing at some parts.

Nice trail good views and dog friendly. Some parts were hard to find making it take longer but all in all enjoyable

Great trail with beautiful scenery. Make sure to do the east gorge and west gorge trails.

Fun escape from the city, one of my favorite trails in Ohio, Lily Pond is full of Turtles and Ducks. Went during a strong rain the Creeks and streams were absolutely beautiful.

Nice change of pace in the Boardman area. No real elevation change, but enough variety of scenery to keep it fresh. A nice 40 minute (or so) hike.

I grew up in Youngstown where Mill Creek Park is located. It is a city park that has been well taken care of. There are three lakes in the park- Newport, Cohassette and Glacier. These trails are well beaten mostly under the canopy of trees. There is some wildlife- deer, water fowl, and birds of prey (owls and hawks). The trail hugs along Mill Creek and the lakes and there is some up and down sections. Many a day as a young boy I would take my fishing pole and fish off the rocks and banks of the creek and lake. Lantermans Mill is an old land mark of the park and is actually making flours and meals.

Spend an hour on one of the easier loops at Mill Creek Park. This trail starts off flat, wide and level from the gorgeous Suspension Bridge parking area and heads North/Northwest through a forest, along the Mill Creek as it widens into Lake Cohasset. Lucky hikers will see frogs, turtles, Heron and ducks along the lake shorts and small islands and sandbars.

After crossing the bridge and road and Pioneer Pavilion, hikers head South along the opposite shore and are treated to a number of great views of the lake before heading up into the forest again (follow the green badges). There are plenty of opportunities to extend your hike with a number of small trails that split off from the main trail, leading to Amphitheaters, bridges, ravines and other features before ending your hike back at the Suspension Bridge.

Why Mill Creek Park doesn't re-organize their trail maps to show loops instead of random one-way trails, I'll never know. At least there is AllTrails!

This is definitely my favorite hike at Mill Creek and one of my all time favorites in Ohio. It is unbelievable that this beautiful strip of nature runs through the middle of the city. The hike as suggested makes a figure 8 trail through the park and includes the best scenes and trails that the park offers.

We really enjoyed hiking here. There are many different trails to take and a few that are not listed on AllTrails. I was pleasantly surprised that it felt remote in some areas of the trail, and some others not so much....but great for being within the city.

I will say that this day would not have been so enjoyable if I did not have AllTrails up with GPS as the trail markings are terrible and you come out on streets and parking lots without any idea of where to go next. I had to take my phone out frequently or we would have gotten lost multiple times.

Nice park! Not a hard hike and great views of wild in the city. This park is what you make of it. Enjoy the outdoors for being out doors and that it’s there. After all it could just be a parking lot like in so many cities.

Great trail- scenic and peaceful- somewhat populated (more at certain times of the day) can be treacherous; watch for roots and rocks- southwest trail area of the lake is the least difficult- I save that for my last leg of my run to decrease chance of injury. Blessed to have this trail in our backyard!!!

Beautiful trail, but I'm very confused. I walked the trail as outlined on the map, and it was only 1.7 miles. I did it twice, but clearly still shorter than 4.9 miles.

I hiked with my daughters, 10 & 13. Lots of places to stop and explore. We hiked quickly to the end and then let my 10 year old explore on the way back. Recommend waterproof hiking shoes.

I took my four boys and wife on this trail and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The mix of terrain (asphalt, fields, unpaved) was a little weird but also welcome. They label this trail as moderate but we would label it as easy.

Mill was very interesting to tour. Path markings were a little confusing or non-existent but made it around the lake and back to the mill. Beautiful scenery for such an urban area. Park was clean and well kept. Probably not a good area to be in much past dusk.

Awesome trail. The Boardwalk was closed so I rerouted plenty to see with suttle inclines.

It was a nice trail. Will come back again.

It was a good hike, would do it again. Only downfall of hike, trails are not marked well. You have to figure out when you go into the parking lot, where the trail begins again.

Great scenery and hiking trails. Would definitely go back.

Great hike. Says 5 miles around lake but we went a little further so ours ended up closer to a 6 mile hike around. Saw deer, crane and tons of other wildlife. Gorgeous views. Next time we will pack a picnic.

Beautiful morning hike. We saw twin fawns playing in the forest with their mother nearby. Also, a family of ducks climbed down the dam overspill... Never saw that before. The wildlife was awesome on this fairly easy hike.
