Fun, safe, easy to walk trail that wasn’t overcrowded.

I was expecting a more challenging trail, given that it was rated “Moderate”. It wasn’t really a trail, so much as it was a wide open dirt road, down which you could easily drive a car. In fact, there were tire tracks the whole way around the Quarry trail. It would be good for trail running, because it’s not technical and you’d not be in danger of tripping over rocks or routes. I was just looking for something more rugged, and this was not it.

Really cool views over the cliff, definitely different for the area.

Great place to hike! Lots of changes along the way.

Easy trails. Absolutely beautiful park-like setting. We also did the Canopy Walk and the Tower. It was a great outing - perfect to take the kiddos.

Great place to go. Some of the hills can be challenging for inexperienced hikers. All the Lake Metro Park are very good.

I've been to Chapin more than a dozen times. The trails are simple, the view of the city is gorgeous, and if you go off the trail to explore the "off limit" areas, there are some lovely lounge spots to just sit, relax and watch the sun set.

Lots of trails to choose from with beautiful views of meadows, ravines, ponds, and forest. Nice nature center and rehab center. Not crowded unless there's an event going on.

One of my favorite local hikes. One trail has beautiful views of the river, the other features an impressive ravine. Blazes are easy to spot and boardwalks are well maintained. Gorgeous trees and wildflowers. Can be muddy at times, I usually wear rubber boots. I've never seen more than 2 other people there during the work week, the small parking lot is adequate.

beautiful hike, creek access which our dog loved. nice bathrooms and pavilion. play set for kids

Trail has a good view of the lake as well as the city of Cleveland. Also, had enough hills to tire my dog.

Excellent terrain for all skill levels. A great walk in the woods.

Short and sweet.

Great trails! Very accessible and great for the whole family! Took my nieces 5 & 7 and they did awesome and really enjoyed the hike. We saw squirrels, turtles, salamanders, etc. Stoney Brook waterfall was pretty but you don’t get to see it from straight on but you see it from the side views. Wish I was able to see it straight on. There are a lot of steps to hike down to and back up. The entire Penitentiary Glen was beautiful and super fun to explore. My nieces loved today! The Nature Center, the animals, the Nature Exploring Area, everything was wonderful! Great outdoors summer day!

Great trail! Great park! Love the overlook! Great views of Lake Erie in the distance.

This is actually two separate trails. Both are nice hikes, but there isn't really anything to see.

Many different areas to explore and different terrain. A nice family hike.

Decent trail, it was wider than I expected and most of it was the crushed gravel. I wasn't a fan of that but at least it wasn't all flat and the woods were beautiful. It's a good trail to take friends that don't have much hiking experience.

Stopped here to walk our llamas & stretch our legs on a cross country trip on I-90 from Wisconsin to New England. Midday on Sunday the parking lot had lots of space for our truck & trailer. Lightly trafficked path was a relaxing break for us all. Trail is flat, wide, and smooth, through mature forest, with several benches along its length. Other users included parents pushing strollers, dog walkers, joggers, as well as walkers like ourselves (minus the llamas). Park users were all very friendly. Restroom facilities were basic but clean.

Nice easy walk. Beautiful!

I love this place. So much to see. Great photo ops. I always see lots of deer. Nice views too.

Nice trail. Nothing really to it. Not lots to see.

I spent a lot of time here on the trails as a teen. Now I enjoy hiking it as an adult. My favorite time to hike this trail is in the fall.

Wide trail with pretty views! Highly trafficked. I would not consider this MODERATE though - there are a few rocky portions and slight inclines, but generally it’s quite flat and easy.
