it's a swamp essentially for a good majority, so definitely wear boots that are waterproof because if you do the full 16 you will come to a few areas where it is almost impassable without walking through water, some spots have logs to walk across but be careful they're slippery. I would want to give it more because of the beautiful pine tree parts, but unfortunately the trail just wasn't enjoyable all the way through. Also beware of the ticks!! 12 on one dog and 10 on the other and a few on us and they are both treated with tick medication, oof lol

Strarted at start in Swanton and went North Route, to Evergreen Lake. 3 1/4hrs. Mud crossings but the challange was fun. I really appreciate the boy scout bridge eagle projects out there. My All Trails app was not working this morning, but the trail was well marked. Couple areas you had to pay attention and one time I got off track daydreaming, 1/4 mile miscue no big deal. Ran into a cool group camp site close to Evergreen Lake, Hiking trail ran right through 10miles out from start going north direction. Camping opens we will have to look into renting. Very fun morning hike. 10.5mils

1st time. Parked car at Evergreen Lake, and had my wife drive me to strart of trail in Swanton. Moderate hike with wonderful wooded scenery. Some muddy crossings but I enjoyed the challenge, and if you look around and find logs over the mud you keep boots from getting too bad. Next time I will probably take the Northern Loop, and leave car in same spot, a lot longer and probably more challenging. Have to make it on an early weekend morning. Had fun and I would recommend.

Was my first time here, loved it!! I must admit, some of the trail signs were nonexistent so i was one of those people that went the wrong way for a short bit, doh! Absolutely beautiful, I'll definitely be coming back to do the whole trail!!!!

walked most of this trail yesterday! very wet and swampy in many places, I knew the area north of monclova road was a swamp so I cut that section out. I stopped at the camp to have lunch then bypassed part of the trail by walking down the bike path and continued on the trail a mile or so down! can't wait till camping is allowed!

Awesome trail to do with kids. My 2 year old ran her heart out and was happy when we found the sand dunes. We had a stroller (for our 1 year old) and it was fine for most of it except the sand part which we pushed up anyway.

I have mixed feelings about this trail. It has rained all week and it was VERY swampish in many parts. So bad in places that it meant going around and walking on top of fallen trees. I can’t even fathom how bad the mosquitoes will be when it warms up. Due to parts of the trail being impassable, there were detour signs. Bad part is that it knocked a mile off the bike. Now for the good... at around the 10 mile mark there is a campground, so it was nice to cook a lunch an relax for a bit. The restroom there was open, which was surprising due to COVID-19. Most other trails that have had restrooms have been closed. I would not mind hiking this again in the winter.

C and I took this very muddy adventure today. Set out to do the whole 16 miles but I had a problem with my right leg so we had to cut off at half way.

Rare clear 51° day in Ohio. The trail was a little boggy and slushy in some spots, but overall clear. Really crowded with several children and dogs running loose but no fault of the trail!
