the trail was well maintained and a perfect hike for our 2 dogs. there are a lot of stairs but it wasnt bad. there is a nice area we let the dogs play in the creek just off the path.

Okay trail. I used it for running and got lost which is probably my own fault but the trails were a bit overgrown and very technical. I would recommend this trail for hiking and enjoying nature rather than running. Very beautiful had I taken the time to enjoy it.

Worst trail ever. Trails are all grown over and I think I literally ate a dozen spiders. Also beware, there is some weird individuals around the area there. I’m talking the shady pervert type.

If you like cute puppies and a lot of stairs, this trail is for you! My wife and I hiked it this afternoon, good terrain and a nice clear path for beginners.

Great trails! Beautiful scenery!

So, to find the trail on park maps, it's called the Wellman Trail, not Horseshoe Falls and and the trail head runs off the Wellman Meadows Group Camp. Overall, the trail is a nice little walk, quite a bit of poison ivy though, so need to keep an eye out if you are allergic to it. The creek bed and falls are nice, not too big, but worth the short hike.

1.8 mile round trip with a 9-year-old and 5 year old twins. Just enough terrain and turns to be interesting to them, as were the color-coded trail markers. The creek and falls were made for kids to play in/around (supervised, of course), also the swinging bridge. Only downside: lots of trail mud.

great hike

Loving Nature
Nice hike
Hot humid day chilled by running creek

Second time on this stretch of Perimeter Trail, spotted a Bald Eagle, an owl, couple of ground hogs, squirrels and plenty of birds. Another nice hike.

nice trail but very buggy

My grand beasts and I call it “the edge of the world” trail....great views without foliage and a beautiful well kept trail with many places for young kids to explore

One of my favorites! many up and down hills, includes swinging bridge

Very pretty, well marked. not a fan of walking across the highway but have to get over the lake somehow

Nice family friendly trail that is easy enough even if you have small children. Our family had a great time hiking the trails and then reaching the falls and cliffs. There are lots of rocks out in the creek and the kids had a great time skipping across them to get to the other side. The falls were nice, not really big so don't set your expectations too high, but still a nice feature at the end of the trail. There are lots of other nice trails in the area too, the entrance to this location basically allowed you to go on one of three or four trails. We are looking forward to tackling the others as well.

Great park with a lot of amenities

Very nice trail, one of the better ones I've been on. Great views and a couple nice water features. Trail maintainers have done a great job, you can tell they are actively to working to repair the few washed out bridges and blow downs from the flooding this winter/spring. I started at the trail head at the Visitors Center and went south. Next time I will go north 1st and get the hilly section done with fresh legs. The road walking was a little unnerving, but only lasts a short while. Trail was very well blazed, would be tough to get lost.

good trail cliffs, water falls, little bit of road walking, greats views of the lake. trail is more like 12.7 miles. 4-21-18

Took our grandson who is 22 months old today. We had a blast. would recommend this trail.

Great trail

Just did this trail today was a little muddy due to the high water in flooding. But a great trail. A beautiful trail would recommend it to anyone

Decent overall, but trail could use some maintenance. Also, I went today (March 12, 2018) and two significant portions of the trail were completely underwater.
Two stretches are along roads, one of which is quite busy.
Some nice secluded stretches and a pleasant stroll through Pioneer Village.

Really nice trail. Unfortunately I wasn’t able to do all of it due to all the flooding. I would recommend waiting if it’s been raining a lot during the week or checking the water level before you go. Because, a lot of the trail is right next to the lake.

Perfect trail and scenic.

Fun hike! There is a spur off to the creek to look for fossils and the kids loved looking for them!
