Hiking

I didn’t run wetmore. It ran me! Great trail with a few tough climbs. The cool part is that this trail is totally different depending on weather. A middle mile is super flat and awesome. The rest will test you! Some switchbacks and, of course, expect a tough climb after stream crossings because those are the low points. Took me 1:14 to jog it so if you are hiking I would guess a fast hike would be completed in 1:30 but a stroll will take over 2 hours.

Started at Wilbeth parking lot. Shaded here and there, not too bad in 80 degrees. Lots of wildflowers, butterflies & geese. Dog poop at start of trail makes it smell but after that it’s ok.

The mud is pretty much dried up. Only a couple spots with slightly squishy mud. There are still a couple area with trees across the path. We were able to either go around, under, or over though.

Beautiful sites along the trail. The AllTrails map isn’t accurate, but the trails are marked well so you no danger of getting lost.

The Bridle Valley Trail part wasn't great. A lot of high grass. When you get to the Buckeye Trail it was awesome. I'd suggest bringing this app though, trail is tough to follow sometimes. Lots of hills, mud and a cool small bridge made out of a single tree. I'll definitely do this trail again.

Nice loop trail! It was well-marked and easy to follow. The even-footing and comfortable grades would make this an excellent loop for trail running. We were almost always under the shade of the trees, which was very welcome during a toasty hot July weekend. Many streams were dry, but we were able to get water from Archer Fork. A scenic highlight was the collection of big rocky outcroppings all along the loop. We saw a group of climbers on one of the biggest sets, and there is a cave and a natural stone arch that are cool. Oh, and we found a patch of chanterelle mushrooms!

So this trail is awesome. Definitely would take standford to brandywine gorge trail. It was peaceful on that side. Now if you think it is a typical national park... it’s not... but needless to say it’s still really awesome. Hope this is helpful to other looking to go!

The trail itself was pretty chill and not as scenic as I hoped, but towards the end, the trail gets a bit steep, which amps up the excitement a bit, and voila - a thunderous 60 ft waterfall as the big ending. Definitely, this waterfall alone was worth it. I probably wouldn’t hike the whole trail again but would go straight to the waterfall.
