First time here and loved every bit of it. Trails were great, a lot of rock features, great views, and I even had two deer run out in front of me about 30 yards. May be difficult for beginners but definitely fun. If you haven’t been here you should definitely make the trip.

Gnats and downed trees at the time I went due to tornado but worth it with bug spray

Took my dog out for a morning hike and fell in love with the park. The portion of the trail south if the road is gorgeous and a fun walk by the lake. The trails north of the road are nice but the Deer Run Trail portion is a mess for days after a good rain. The park provides a good mapping system that is fairly easy to follow.

Very secluded trail, great hike.

You now have to park out by the main toad and walk to the trailhead so the hike is longer than what it says. It’s a pretty and easy hike and has some interesting things to see. The water is beautiful and there’s a bench there to sit and take in the view.

Trail is not a trail at all, it is a snowmobile and mountain bike trail. Over grown and full of bike ramps and fallen trees.

It is fun I have slipped a few times in the past but it is a really fun trail to ride your bike on.

Not very well marked. Not the best choice for a night hike.

Not a bad little trail, a little muddy here and there and generally marked well, but there were a few spots of confusion.

trail is actually 13.4 miles was a fairly easy hike great time and great views of the lake

fun trail

Great trail. Felt very secluded. There is a portion of road that is highly traveled that I didn’t care for but Is needed to make the loop. Definitely need hiking boots due to wet areas. Second half after the road was hard to follow sometimes due to wooded areas not marked as well. Wore out my Labrador!

hiked this trail today. great trail, well marked. spent about a mile on the road in the middle and near the end. didn't see another person the whole way today.

Great trail and scenic views. See quite a bit of flora and fauna. The sheer value of fungi growth is intriguing as well. A nice short semi-challenging loop.

I would give this a 3.5. The trail was a little overgrown.

The trail is poorly marked at times, so take your time! I had to use my map quite often and the 7.9 miles turned in to 13, which i didn't mind so much because I wasn't on a time crunch. There are a few challenging areas and plenty of beautiful views. I didn't care for the on road section, as it's a heavily traveled state route.

Shore line views are stunning. Lots of roots and bridges. Great fun and challenging.

Love hiking here. We go on the MTN bike trails when they're closed to bikers. It's a great hike with many switchbacks in and out of the woods along the lake! The dog loves to tag along :)

Don’t take your kids or pets on this trail! Path was poorly marked along most of the way. Also it’s not complete trail. You will be walking on the road for 2 approximately 1 mile segments. I don think we will be doing this again.

Nice short trail, There are two spur loops the fox and flower that add a little more to the length and are more moderate. It was great that there was no one else there, felt like my own private reserve.

You can park near the camp office. The loop trail starts at point "A" between the parking lot and the camp office on the north side of the road. Each point is marked well. You have a great chance of seeing deer on this trail. I've hiked it several times and seen deer almost every time.

We hiked the Buckeye South Trail between Knapp Road and Rocksprings Road. Trailheads are so overgrown as to be difficult to find. Lack of signage makes that even worse.  Numerous deadfalls obstruct the trail so that following trail markings can be difficult.

The park itself is a little hard to get around. Lots of different paths to get you to the same place but it's all wonderful. I'm never disappointed whenever I find a perfect view of that lake and set up my hammock. Beautiful spot with little foot traffic.

Very quiet path, only encountered 2 people while we were hiking. However, the address the app takes you to is not the park; there's no park at that address. And the actual Dix Park is not a loop trail; it's an out-and-back, about 1.4 miles. But the trail is still very enjoyable and quiet.
