Our family of four walked this last week with friends. It was great but warning-don’t park on the street. The parking across from the trail entrance was closed. There is parking at the bottom of the hill down the road from the entrance, with a trail leading back to the entrance (and some distance you will have to walk on the road). The trail was great. Very secluded and beautiful. We crossed the creek about 5 times before making it to the second falls. Feet will get wet. The trail is rugged with lots of roots and down trees. But we were able to make it with our 2 yo (with some time spent on our shoulders).

If you love a workout hiking this is the spot!

First time being there, walked squires trails/scenic route. Wow! So many great trails there, the castle was cool to see, and the open areas for picnics or games is great! Saw lots of different ages walk this particular trail, some hills but they weren’t bad. Pretty much just at the start and end. I highly recommend and will be going back!(a lot)

Love this area, even though it was a bunch of traffic because of the Holiday weekend. 3 hour drive from Michigan was worth it!

Very pretty trail in parts. However, some areas are not well marked.

The short loop is a scenic trail and spring wildflowers were abundant. Also abundant was mud and I mean lots of mud this made for a memorable hike in mud.

Hiked the Buckeye Loop Trail today, it was very very muddy 75 % is ankle deep mud. My GPS said 8.6 miles. It was not a pleasant hike, but I knew it would be muddy. I would advise anyone that wants to do the hike to wait until it is good and dry out.

I feel this trail is over shadowed by the Gorge Trail, maybe due to Glen trail being the out and back type, but in my opinion this trail has far better scenery when it comes to rock edges and walls.

Beautiful hike along the Creek, with views of the cliffs above, all shaded forest trails. Fairly easy out and back, most right along the river bank. really unique water fall. Access to the river and clear water make it great for a wade in... several kids played in the Creek.

Pretty forest hike, short and sweet! good trails, very easy hike. nice pavilion area and fire pit and playground area

Fairly clearly marked trail. Very muddy along the north side of the lakeshore opposite the swimming beach and again on the south side of the lakeshore after leaving the swimming beach area. There was a timber rattler along the trail on the south side of the lake before the trail turned off into the woods to make the steep uphill climb. My companions, who were not well conditioned and were out of practice at hiking, were unhappy about the large climb. In contrast to the rest of the practically flat trail, the climb was off-putting enough to them that they would not do any other hikes while we were visiting the park during a long, holiday weekend.

Wonderful easy trail. Like most bridle trails it gets muddy quickly with any rain. Would recommend including Mt. Jeez for the view of the farm.

Ended up not doing the full hike bc of mosquitoes and a dip in the river!

I really enjoyed this hike. it was pretty muddy in spots so be aware. There was plenty of great views and wildlife along the way. I will be returning.

The trail is well marked but going even 2 days after heavy rain made it a nightmare by the river. Near the dam there is about a mile of mud and around the halfway point another mile of complete mud. The trail is well marked and if you plan ahead you can get around the muddy areas by cutting to silver and pink at a couple spots.

Great trail. Challenging in spots. If you do the full length it’s more like 6 miles. Like a previous poster, lots of high school kids camping out/swimming/making lots of noise, but only in a couple spots. Quite a bit of road/construction noise in spots.
