Best hill in lancaster!

on East & West Rim Trail

This was a great trail. We did it in mid-March. The trail is clearly marked and easily accessible. There are some steep edges and drop-offs so no kids. It is an easy hike but with it for the beauty.

My favorite trail in all of Hocking Hills. The views are amazing on the east rim trail. It's a bit of work to get up it, but more than work it. My recommendation is to start on the east and follow the trail counter clockwise. The west side of the rim is okay, but nowhere near as amazing as the east.

I can't understand why this isn't visited more. This is one of my favorite hike of all the trails in Hocking Hills (the rim is even better). The gorge is amazing with the massive cliff faces surrounding it. There are multiple caves along the trail as nice as Whispering Cave and even close to Old Man's Cave. For some reason, they paved the trail for most of the way. As soon as the pavement ends, the trail gets really good.

Well maintained and fantastic hiking with plenty of variety in terrain. Will definitely do again.

The outer loop is very neat with scenic spots along the way. Take your time and enjoy the easy trail.

Trees down everywhere blocking many parts of the trail. Some apparently for months. Truly sad that park maintenance staff haven’t done their jobs. I probably could be a nice trail but not in its current state of disrepair.

Wide clear path gravel. Great scenery. Can get buggy in summer.

Decent trail, however it's unfortunately not marked at all. Can be pretty rocky + steep at parts so I'd be careful bringing kids along.

This is a beautiful trail. My son (8) and I always choose the Gorge because it is definitely one of the prettiest hiking areas near us. We started going when my son was only 5, and he could keep up and handle it then. It definitely is a little tricky in some spots tho. The rock formations are amazing. You have to walk through two rocks that are split apart and that’s really cool for a kid (and me) to do. There is a huge rock that sticks out over the walking path and you are able to go underneath it and there are teeny tiny waterfalls that you can see coming off that rock in the warmer weather. It definitely worth taking a look at it!!! A lot of great pictures and memories were made there

Nice trail with plenty of postcard shots along the way.

Decent trail to hike with your dog.

It’s good for Columbus - however, if you’re looking for real hiking and views, you’d prolly be best to hike another trail outside of Columbus.

The trails themselves were great... however, this app description says the trails are pet friendly for leashed dogs~ the signage at each trail said differently....
NO PETS. We drove here with our dog to walk on these trails.

A nice little hike for the area! Not strenuous in any way, flat terrain with the creek for viewing. My dog loved playing in the water so that’s always a plus!

Trail was closed even though the ranger said it was open yesterday. What’s changed? Very disappointed.

Went during a really cold day in December, and still loved it! Saw Turkeys, Red Cardinals, and a variety of other animals. Can't wait to go when it warms up!

My first time there today, loved it,even though I had to cut my hike short due to pouring rain.

Despite all the great reviews, this trail was a disaster. It resembled running up a rocky muddy creek more than a wide trail. Im surprised others enjoy this. Well marked tho.

One of my favorite spots to hike when I don’t want to travel far to hike.

fun quick trail that the kids loved. there are forks all over though that are not the loop so just pay attention

Beautiful sandstone carvings dating back to the 1700s. Peaceful and very little traffic. Loved it!

A nice mid morning hike. Not too long and has some hills. I did not see anyone else on the trail.

One of my favorite trails

The trail is in good shape for as much rain we have had. A decent about of steep up’s and down’s to get on and off the main trail.

cool terrain, and no footbridge, we had to climb on rocks to cross the creek.

Well maintained trail. Parking area with a few small ponds.

I really enjoyed this hike. Lots of gentle hills and valleys, and enjoyed the rocks and “cave”. Really looking forward to returning in the spring when everything is green.

Sharon Woods is one of my favorite metro parks, partly because it is rarely as trafficked and busy despite being right off the highway. The park and trails are clean and well maintainted. Not sure why AllTrails only lists one trail here - there are actually several.
