I love walking out here... I only wish it were longer.

the trail was well maintained and a perfect hike for our 2 dogs. there are a lot of stairs but it wasnt bad. there is a nice area we let the dogs play in the creek just off the path.

Great for a leisurely stroll

The trail is 60% mountain bike trail, but there weren't many bikes on the trail (early May). It was a quiet hike through the forest with plenty of wildlife (deer, beaver, hawks, woodpeckers). My tracker (android) also gave 14.2 miles.

Love hiking here. We go on the MTN bike trails when they're closed to bikers. It's a great hike with many switchbacks in and out of the woods along the lake! The dog loves to tag along :)

Great place for a walk any time of the year! Our dog loves the huges hill where most people sled for playing frisbee!

A good loop. Bring bug spray in the summer!

Trail clearly marked & well maintained.

Nice shades trail, however there was a lot of trees across the trail. I also thought we'd be able to get to the lake, but the bank drops off to the water.

A nice hike for our 5 and 3-year olds with a beautiful lake view at the library. We saw herron, turtles, butterflies and many birds on our walk.

Really a fun trail. Out and back. We were lucky that the pink lotus blossoms were in bloom and carpeted the lake. It was so beautiful.

Great place to hike. Lake views are beautiful. Lots of neat plant life, birds, deer, etc. Nice area.

One of the best Dayton MetroPark Trails.

nice trail. my dog loved our little hike.

This park is a wonderful place to find solitude. Plenty of wildlife to cross your path as you make your way around the loop. In the middle is the Monarch Trail where you will meet many types of insects. Great escape close to the city with plenty of enjoyable views over looking the lake.

Good morning hike

Majority of dogs are unleashed. Leash law not enforced. I stopped going after being chased by dogs both while biking and jogging. Owners patronizingly declare "eh, he won't hurt you." One dog owner regularity "walks" his dog by making dog run beside the moving car. Nothing is done about this. Well maintained running, biking trails.

beautiful and easy trail through a gorgeous garden and streams.

Paved part is simple and fine for a quick need to get the dog out type of park. Unpaved trails would be better if marked more clearly. Some branches lead to people's yards/developments other branches look like they just stop. Okay trail for necessity not really for pleasure

Absolutely love this location and all the options it has to offer for family and friends. So many memories have been made here

Great place to enjoy nature and get lost in thought. A boardwall and a few rought trails make it a perfect mix.

Great trails and well maintained. Campsites have water and pit toilets available. great place to start backpacking.

Good clean trail.

The trail is a grumpy old man, one minute it is great and the next it is an angry grumpy man that crapped himself. I took my son for his first backpacking trip and the section of trail from Dock 1 (southern most point, or mile 18 on the pdf map) to the northern end of the trail was beautiful, well marked, and well maintained. We saw a couple turkey, two bald eagles, and a deer! We camped at the open campground (free) and the only other visitors we saw were the raccoons in the middle of the night trying to get to our food bag in the tree. Luckily, the noxious gas coming from my rear end as a result of some "not-so-tasty three cheese chicken and zucchini pasta" and a strobe flashlight kept them from eating all our food.

The second part of our hike was crap. The northern and northwestern portion of the trail is also a horseback riding trail. That fact, combined with the low elevation and swamp-like environment made for some of the muddiest trail conditions I have ever seen. The weight of the horses create a field of holes the size of 2 liters that fill with water and then make the entire trail nearly impassable. My son almost lost his boots three times. There were frogs living in the footprints of the horses. I have never seen sitting water on uphills and downhills until I hiked Burr Oak! Also, keep in mind that horses crap and through some miracle of defecation the horse crap is scattered between all the water filled holes so you are forced to navigate muddy/crap scattered/frog infested mine fields only to be excited that you are coming up to a steep incline... just to have your mind blown that somehow, gravity and water don't follow the laws of physics at Burr Oak.

The last element of the trail that left a lasting impression was the spider web situation. I used my trekking poles to limit the number of spider webs that I ate. Walking into spider webs is expected on hikes, but this was like I was on a TV show where they try to see how much crap I can deal with before losing my s#!t! I would also have to give some props to the kamikaze gnats that repeated flew directly into my eyes.

The open camp site, south eastern portion of the trail offer cool views and neat caves, and the beach was a pleasant escape at the end of our 2nd day! @Thefunnyreview1

walked with my son in 2017. the lake was full of lilipads in bloom. definately a killer hill at the end.going counter clockwise as we did. i think it's more than 3 miles + the way the trails conected. then the walk back to the car as well. I'd recommend this for nature hike birding fishing alike.since there were spots to do those things along the way.

Nice paved trail not too much traffic on the trail but you do pop out to cross a busy street. Lot’s of boardwalks and a few bridges. Good information signs throughout. I thought the trail was clearly marked and easy to follow. Abram’s Lake was a heavily grassed and reeded over depression rather than a lake. Pretty nonetheless.
