Nice enjoyable place for either a walk or to ride a bike. Not much traffic. Would be nice to visit during the fall. Well maintained and kept up

Have been here many times hiking and running. Now that I have this app maybe I won’t get lost? Eh who am I kidding, yes I will haha... great trails, stay on the path and watch for signs it is very easy to make a wrong turn. Otherwise we love running at Towners wood.

Please be warned! This is strictly just a walking trail with a few benches. If you want to get remotely close to the water, forget it. There are no trespassing signs for miles around each body of water. But there are beautiful sights to see as you walk along the trail.

This is an absolutely beautiful trail with gorgeous views of a lake, pine grove, and forest. Bring your phone for navigation!

Very relaxing hike along the Cuyahoga. Very scenic with the river, the trees hanging over it and some really cool bridges to look at on the walk from Kent toward Tallmadge. Also takes you right into downtown Kent so can be paired with a nice meal and view of Kent. I use this as my casual hiking spot. If you want that "deep in the woods" feel, this isn't the spot for you. If you want a nice, relaxing walk on the river near a cool town, this place is perfect! One nice thing about this trail - if you have a lot of time - is it goes all the way from Kent to Towner's Woods in Ravenna and also connects with a path in Tallmadge.

One of my favorite paths. The water is just beautiful! So peaceful. Some places keep their beauty better in the winter than others. This is one of those places that's pretty all year long. Lots of great vistas and benches to sit and watch the water from. Just an incredibly peaceful place. Amazing to be 10-15 minutes from commercial Streetsboro and suddenly be on winding roads and paths that make you feel so far removed from the hustle-bustle of everyday life. Great sloping paths through deep woods and lakes.

no horses allowed according to the website. :/

Trail markers have been renovated and updated, everything is now clearly marked. Lots of other trails within this loop as well.

Love that it's in the middle of a small town. Makes for nice pictures with plenty of stops along the way.

Trails are poorly marked, it's VERY buggy, and the scenery is bland. Of course maybe I'd have noticed the scenery better if I didn't have bugs flying into my eyes the whole damn time.

We really enjoyed the place.

fabulous place!

Really enjoyed the trail.

As noted by others it is poorly marked. I relied on this app to stay on course when I was in doubt. Aside from that it was pleasant, I went in October so it wasn't buggy.

As others have said, very poorly marked. Some trail signs and arrows are bleached out or missing. Trails disappear into mowed meadows without clear marking of resumption. Some steep and potentially muddy inclines. More paths than marked here.

Good trail. Paved and goes from downtown Kent to Ravenna

Poorly marked. Easy to get turned around. If you are a novice bring a map or your phone.

The trails themselves are very nice. Elevation changes are easy and views are descent. Not much wildlife. After school during the spring you're bound to run into track or cross country kids practicing.

Beautiful trail if you don't care that's it so poorly marked you may never find your way out. Absolutely no reason this can't be marked on trees. Found one intersection with signs to the one and only parking lot yet it said to go in opposing directions. Shame on the portage park system

Short but fun trail, not at all challenging. Took 2 small kids and they were able to walk it without problem. We didn't have a bug issue but I could see it being a problem at certain times

When I first decided to hike the woods I didn't know what to expect. I quickly came to find s beautiful hiking spot! I'm amazed at how many variations of trails and routes one can take! The trails are well maintained. The only downside is that some of the trails are NOT well marked so be careful not to get turned around if you are a novice!

Nice walking trail along the Cuyahoga River. It's kinda concealed under the bridges through the city of Kent and is a surprisingly beautiful walk. There is different "stops" along the path to view the dam and other areas. Some areas have heavier visitor flow from college students, coupled, and families.

Nice walking for kids on a sunny day, but it's mostly a paved walkway. There are areas of earthen trail but it's not strenuous if you are looking for something more. Well maintained and busy at different areas.

kind of a cool little Boardwalk loop thru a nice little bog. Took kids along and they had a good time. Walked it in late April so the bugs were nonexistent!

This trail is more for walkers, joggers, and bikes than hiking.

Spent a full day here in late October. Very pretty to see with fall settings. Not a difficult hike; various trails to choose from.

A nice little hike along the Cuyahoga River through Kent. The park at the dam is a nice little hangout spot, and there are decks and stairs which lead up to the Main Street bridge and into downtown Kent. There are some secluded wooden walkways along the river that will lead you down to Tannery Park, which has just been renovated in 2012 with a walking and biking trail that follows the river out to Middlebury Road.

From there it connects to the Freedom Trail, which is part of Summit County Metroparks and a nice walking/bike trail that goes to Tallmadge Circle at present.

Great casual trail for walking, running or biking. Follows old train tracks, so its pretty straight and flat. Secluded for the most part. Some nice wooded sections. You'll hit some larger gravel patches out towards Ravenna. The bulk of this trail is new and it's flat, smooth asphalt. A bit of a river view as you get closer to Kent.

Summer 2013 should see the Portage Hike and Bike Trail connect to the Riveredge Park Trail in downtown Kent as part of the bridge construction.

Be sure to check out the brand-new bike and walking trail that starts at Tannery Park on Stow Street and follows the Cuyahoga River to connect to the Freedom Trail on Middlebury Road. Freedom Trail currently goes to Tallmadge Circle.
