This is a paved trail that goes around two ponds with a residential area surrounding it. Being paved and with no inclines, it’s very accessible to all ability levels. The ponds are pretty and there are plenty of benches for people to sit and look at the water.Show more

Maple Grove Park Loop is a wonderful example of a quiet neighborhood park. This path is only accessible through a housing development, but this path through the woods feels secluded. You only see a couple of houses right near the trailhead, other than that it is completely wooded with the exception of the wildflower and wetland area near the train tracks. The path is fairly well-maintained and it is cinder. There are benches along the way and it is relatively flat, making this a great option for short nature walks for families.Show more

Darrow Road Park Loop is a great option if you’re looking to do a quick hike. This trail is wooded and quite private even though it’s nearby a populated area. The trail stays fairly dry even after heavy rain. Be careful on the wooden boardwalk areas though after a rain as the boardwalks can get slippery. It will be great to see the small pollinator meadow that’s next to the parking lot grow in the future.Show more

This is a loop trail that goes around Veterans Way Park. The trail takes you on a boardwalk through some wetlands and wildflowers, through a wooded area with wild blackberries, and along the edge of the basketball courts and the skate park. This loop route has various surfaces. Some of it is a wooden boardwalk, other areas of the trail are cinder, and then there are other parts of the trail that are grassed. Overall though, this is a very easy one mile hike with very minimal elevation change. This trail is family / kid friendly and even includes a storybook trail. There is a picnic shelter, small splashpad, and a playground nearby the trailhead as well.Show more
