Some up hills make for a strenuous hike. Most of the hike, however, is on gravel or unimproved road, so it won’t take too much pit of you. Bug spray is a must. Worth the effort to see the Coke Ovens.

My friend and I visited here on a cold and clear beautiful sunny March day, and had the place to ourselves. It was a very nice walk, not overly strenuous but there is something about coming upon man made structures left to rot in the middle of a forest that fascinates me every time. I give this hike five stars simply because of the interesting history at the end of the trail...and because there were no crowds!

Depending on which way you go, it starts or ends at the end of the RV parking area, snakes up one side of a hill, crests the hill and descends the other side to end at another trail along a small stream that trickles down to the lake. There was a bench along the trail if you'd like to have a sit. Of course, the scenery consists of woods and hills.

Depending on which way you go, this starts or ends near the parking lots near the second beach area, heads up a moderate incline up a hill, and gradually descends the other side down to the camping area and playground. The end near the campground branches a bit, with more than one narrow trail heading down the relatively steep base of the hill. As with the park's other trails, scenery consists of forest and hills, though at the ends you clearly see the lake and the lake can be somewhat seen through the trees at the top of the hill.

Easy hike. Weeds are bad in spring and summer at the beginning of trail.
