A nice hike for our 5 and 3-year olds with a beautiful lake view at the library. We saw herron, turtles, butterflies and many birds on our walk.

I would not call this a hike, so 3 stars.

Thought this was the least impressive of all the Hocking Hills area trails. Initial rock structures were beautiful but after that it's just woods; I can see that anywhere in Ohio. If you're in the area; Ash Cave, Old Man's Cave, Cedar Falls, Rock House, and Conkle's Hollow were much more beautiful hikes.

Really good bathrooms

I love this place, spent many days biking and running this trail.

Great trail! hard to find trail heads. just park in the gravel and follow the creek till you find one. only knock is you hear cars and or trains at all times on the trail.

Okay trail. I used it for running and got lost which is probably my own fault but the trails were a bit overgrown and very technical. I would recommend this trail for hiking and enjoying nature rather than running. Very beautiful had I taken the time to enjoy it.

This little trail is a very nice break from all the flat farmland in the county. It's very well maintained and sits on beautiful land. It can get very buggy, so consider bringing spray especially in the evenings. Overall this is a great place to have so close to home.

Ran across a few things that I wasn't expecting to see on the trail. At some point there must of been a obstacle race here and 4 of the obstacles are still up. The trail is not marked and by lightly used they mean that the other reviewer and I are probably the only ones that have been on it in months. There were several, and by several a mean a few dozen, spider webs that I attempted to clear out of my way but still ended up covered in webs by the end of the hike. The lake views were pretty and the trail was decent. Nothing too strenuous, but I would recommend using a hiking stick for help on the one steeper incline with the rope and to clear away spider webs.

We hiked this trail on our first trip to the Hocking Hills area. The steps down into the gorge were pretty cool although a little slick in a few places. Once you get to the bottom, you have a choice of two different trails. The red trail is a little more challenging with bigger climbs. We did part of that one then jumped over to the yellow trail which was quite a bit easier. The whole thing is marked as being exactly two miles, but the sections we did, according to my Garmin ended up being 2.3 miles and we left off a good portion of the red loop. We have a 10 year old and a couple of the spots can be a little concerning. Great little hike and I can't wait to go back to explore the rest of the HH trails!

Entrance to the Wetlands “area” is on your right just past the playground if you enter at the Library side. Lots of small trails back there that loop back around to the main path. (Main path is an Out n Back from the library to the boat ramp) great for an easy walk with kids/pets etc. You can get a bit of the “trail running” feeling if you utilize the wetlands part, and there is a worn path down to the lake, along a concrete dam, then back to gazebo, but it’s not really “part of it” and is likely overgrown. This whole area should definitely be marked as “easy” and not “moderate”.

Good loop to start running on. love the pines at the back.

Nice climb with beautiful view of the Ohio River from the top. The parking lot is not marked but the all trails app assured us that we were at the right spot for the trail head.

A pretty walk. I am used to hills so this is flat . My granddaughter & I walked around most of it. No shade . Easy walk for the children.

Lots of trails not on map so it's fun to explore.Lots of good elevation changes to get a good workout

Beautiful scenery. A nice bit of elevation change here and there. I only wish it was a little longer. The trails were well blazed but clearly there’s been some tree damage in the area. A great little hike with plenty of eye candy.

If you’re up for a biking challenge this trail is for you! Had a great time biking this with my 12 year old son. There were parts we had to walk our bikes due to the difficulty of the inclines. This trail has a great variety of technical challenges that really pushes you. Be sure to have the right gear.
I recommend this trail.

This is a great easy trail. Field walking and a trail path if you want to take it. Our young son has autism and we have been taking him on nature walks to help him. This trail is great; no cliffs to fall off. Our son loves to run without holding a hand. He loves it, and we like doing it after a big weekend when we have pushed ourselves.

Nice paved walkway around reservoir. Great for simple jog and walk. Decent wide grass covered path through the wooded area as well.

Not bad for what it is. Just gravel and grass paths.

Nice little trail. Discovered it off of the towpath. Mostly paved, nice and dry and lots of shade to take a break.

Very strenuous! The hills are steep...... I recommend bringing trekking poles as they are needed ( I’ve never used trekking poles until this trip) The Park has both a North and South trail. If doing both as one large loop it is 40 miles. There is water at or near every campsite. Also there is a fire tower that you can climb to the top of for a great view on the way to camp 1. If you are only doing half of the loop be prepared for a 5 mile road hike on a busy 2 lane state route back to the trailhead. Again this trail is very strenuous and will test your endurance!

A nice walk from the marina to the library and back.

Our whole family loves this trail, challenges and fun for all!
