Very well maintained and marked!! Beautiful trail!

trail running

Good loop to start running on. love the pines at the back.

Very poor markings. Took me nearly 20 minutes to walk around the park just to see where the trail started. There is a sign that shows what trails are available, but doesn’t show where they start. Plus I ended up going on a trail I didn’t even want to. That’s how poor it’s marked. But the Spring Run Trail is very easy to accomplish.

We did this trail in conjunction with the Hoggard Trail today. Very well maintained with amazing views. Charted right at 1.6 miles.

I enjoyed this trail quite a bit. We went today and did both this trail as well as the South Loop and GPS tracked it at 5.58 combined. The trails were well marked and fairly well maintained. It's not a busy area, and we only saw a few people. The pine forest area was particularly spectacular.

The scenery, the ambience, nature herself was top form, but these trails are horribly marked! I ended up fording streams, climbing over fallen trees and walking ten miles in 85 degree heat to get back. By the time I passed the park office I was bloodied, dehydrated and covered in mud. The ‘helpful’ staff told me how far it was to my starting point but didn’t ask about my condition, or offer to get me there. Not a great park, definitely a great workout.

Not very well marked.

Mostly two person wide trail. Fairly flat considering the foot hills that it’s in. Easy enough that my four year old was able to hike 95% (but she is used to hiking). On a Sunday afternoon, with great weather we saw about 5 other people.

Very well maintained! Beautiful scenery! Quiet and not much traffic!!!

Nice mostly flat trail, tree covered the whole way.

Poorly marked trail on the lower loop. Lots of down trees.

We went after a snowfall and did the long loop. It took us about 2 hours to trek in our snow gear. The “Mystical Forest” snow covered trees was our favorite highlight. Mildly hilly balanced with flat terrain.

Did all trails today, Very strenuous hills, whoever made trails did not know how to make a switchback! This is Not a loop trail, it is several trails to equal the six miles! The lakes are nice and picturesque!

Halfway through the Caldwell/fire tower trail and the trail just stops, completely lost to logging in the area; other 2 trails were decent but not marked at all.

A great hiking trail with a diverse forest.

This is not an easy trail if you go the whole way!! Don't underestimate, very steep inclines.

Both loops are not maintained very well, down trees, overgrown with grass and green briar, and not marked very well in many sections of the 2 loops. The North Loop is approximately 9.5 miles and is easily accessible from the main campground. The South Loop is about 10.3 miles (including the Dullen loop) but starts at the fire tower which is about a 1.5 mile hike from Pine Lake at the campground. Both were challenging, fun, and beautiful. Will enjoy hiking the area again.

Not bad got to watch out for disk golf great to to be outdoors

If you want to have 20-50 ticks per square inch of your person, hike on an overgrown and unkept trail over fallen trees and through bramble, this is the spot for you.
Just please for the love of all things good, don't bring your dog here. You're asking for a tick infestation.
Seriously just stay away, far far away.

Fun trail with my three kids, ages 5-8. The little cemetery and house ruins are really cool, great plant variation, well marked trail. We took the short loop, as even that was a bit long for us. The trail head is actually just in front of the official looking park entrance, to the right, behind a small parking area that looks about two cars wide. There's a bridge just before the trail sign.

sadly on Sunday April 23rd we were told trail unavailable as it was being logged. We did hike a 1.6 mile trail. You get trail head across street from camp store. take road back by campsite #48. you can add on a other .5 mile connector trail. great campground. walk in sites or Reservable sites. Beautiful wildflowers today.
