Beautiful views. Fairly easy in our opinion; it was me, my husband and our 1.5y old(the hubs wore her). There was a few trees to climb over, we walked what looked like was once the bottom of the river for some time(probably has more water during heavy rains I’d imagine) some places had a good amount of water. I’d like to do it again when there’s more rain!

Very muddy and narrow at points, but there were some very nice views from the My Mountain Overlook. Not too challenging, but some nice hills throughout the trail.

Nice hike and had an had an unusual event at the end. There was a guy proposing to his girlfriend She said YES!!

nice challenging hike to get to a beautiful destination

This was a lot of fun and was definitely rewarding at the end. It was a bit busier when we were there but overall great hike. Also remember good hiking shoes because it does get wet and slippery!

Pretty boring trail. Not worth the drive.

one of our favorites to revisit & see how much water is up there. we find it easiest to hike thru the water once you go up where the mud catcher is

Ok. Did this trail last week. Why? I won’t be doing it again. There’s nothing to see here folks.

Unbelievably muddy hike in early spring. This trail runs through an study area in which trees were cut in 1996 to promote growth of oaks and wildflowers. Kind of a sad site in the winter. Decent elevation gain with access to Buckeye Trail and My Mountain overlook.

I live close to this trail. It is closed due to a renovation project that is underway now. There are three bridges that have been close for many years and deemed unsafe. These bridges will be removed and one new bridge built. They are removing trees now and re-routing the hiking route. You can still access the connector trail from the bike and hike to the tow path however.

Was a nice walk. Pretty wet this time of year which makes it super muddy! A little bummed that there are houses so close to parts of the trail. Will hike again during a drier season.

Nice peaceful walk only saw a few other people. Wildlife is plentiful but I prefer a bit more seclusion. Several spots along the upper portion of the trail you pass very close to housing.

Great hike and the twin sisters were great. The smaller stream in front of the mudcatcher was pretty high so I had to cross it closer to the 82 bridge just off the unpaved section of the towpath trail that veers off of the paved trail. The crossing was right before the iron walking bridge before the un paved trail connects with the paved trail again.

little confusing to find where to start. pretty simple though. I'll try to help.

leave the parking lot, cross the iron bridge, walk towards and under the 82 bridge, come to the mudcatcher on your right. cross the river go up that valley... walk the river, the hillside, what ever, till you get there.

I did it in the snow with no visible trail. but very worthwhile.

Difficult hike during 10 degree weather. Amazing and beautiful sight. Make sure you have good boots!

So cool we did it twice in 3 weeks

I have done this trail once before and would like to go back! Can anyone confirm that this is the trail with the "overlook" with a couple benches up top?

Easy to get to when the canal is low just cross at the mud at her and to the left slightly, then follow the river bank and it will dead end into the falls. Beautiful find ! With or without water flowing.

No water was flowing which made the hike easier, but it would have been nice to see the sisters

Great Trail. You will run into few people if any. We went up and down the three ravines vs. crossing the bridges. Crossing the bridges I view as a foolish and risky undertaking. Have fun. Be safe.

So many options and all are easy if you stay on a path. The main path is paved and alongside the road. While lots of people use it i have not seen it overcrowded. There are a few places to stop along ye way - picnic area or swings of river. The dirt paths are adventurous, fun and occasionally challenging. If you choose to go into the riverbed be careful - it is super fun but not always easy or moderate. I go here at least weekly and do something different each time.

Great hike. And although its not quite a "mountain view" the My Mountain View area is a beautiful extra on this trail.

Fun trail! Thank you to those that posted a review, not sure I would've found it without you! Trail is a riverbed with lots of fallen trees and logs, but keep following it and you will see the falls!

Beautiful hike on a beautiful morning. Low temps, no humidity and a nice breeze.

You can park your car at Marcs at the intersection of RT 82 and Holzhauer Rd. Walk south down Holzhauer to reach the trail head. Makes for a nice loop.

Really fun hike. Don't make our mistakes though! Walk on the paved path for a little ways (you'll go under the bridge) and look for a sign on the right side of the path that says "Mudcatcher." That's where you cut in and find the small trailhead.

The trail itself was a lot of fun, but very slippery. At the end we found two very weak waterfalls as the Twin Sisters but I'm sure that if we had come when it had rained more recently they'd have been pumpin!

Still a great hike and really not that difficult.

cool trail. the trail is all a river trail. half way through the trail, is blocked by some big logs. But you can climb over it. No problem.

This trail starts along the towpath, which is very busy. Once the actual trail starts, it is gorgeous and pretty quiet. A lot of interesting native american history along the way and the condemned bridges were so cool to see! A great adventure. The trails were clear and the bugs were minimal, too.

An adventure not clearly marked but once you find it it's worth it. Bring water shoes or flip flops your feet will get wet.
