Great trail
Started by dairy road. Went to the right to start.
After coming to the second cemetery and up on the road never did find any more marks for the trail.
So I missed a portion of the trail but will go back and do it again in the fall, and start at the other side, maybe I’ll figure out what I did wrong.
but love my time out on the trail would do it again definitely!!

Cool tunnel thats about it.

one of my favorites. muddy in typically muddy spots on any trail. good trail for calorie burning.

I hiked the Lakeview Trail all the way around the lake today. I would say 50% was easy, 25% moderate, and 25% hard. There was a lot of damp spots, some so wet you could not pass and had to climb up rough terrain to make your own path to get around. Only experienced and agile hikers should attempt this feat. It was 8.05 miles long in my Samsung Hiking app, and 7.6 miles on the Alltrails app.

Awesome trail that has great views of the lake from all different angles. I didn’t see it mentioned but there is also allot of mountain bike and hiking trails on the other side of the lake. They keep the trails clear and well maintained. One of my favorite places. They also rent kayaks and water boards.

Beautiful area and a fun place to hike and explore.

Nice hike.... worth a stop!

Nice and simple trail with cool scenery. If you are up from a rock scramble, there is a large hill with a moderate climb. Feeling adventurous? Park on the opposite side of the stream and figure out how to traverse the valleys and water to find your way to the tunnel.

It’s fun, check it out. A VERY easy trail for sure.

I don’t understand why this trail is rated hard, it’s not. It’s easy. I avoid this trail as it’s almost always busy and loud. There are plenty of other trails to explore.

its not as hard as this says i thought it was too easy i wont be going back to this place

There isn't actually much of a trail here. It follows a creek so the scenery isn't bad but there's just not really a trail to hike. You don't actually make this hike for the trail. The only reason you go here is for the Moonville Tunnel.

One of my favorite trails, there is even a rope swing along the path so make sure to wear a suit or pack a towel!

My happy place.

It's a bland trail. It does pass an abandoned and dried up beaver pond which is kind of cool. If you walk towards the feeder stream there is a cool little waterfall. My GSD really likes this trail. I let him off his leash so he can explore and frolic in the creek. This is a wet trail so expect a little mud if it's rained recently. Especially if you bring your dog. As a bonus there is a deep water hole under the foot bridge before the last hill at the parking spot to rinse off your muddy dog. It was plenty big enough for my just under 100 pound GSD. I essentially like this trail because it's great for an active dog.

I would say if you are going in the fall this is not the greatest trail, however the tunnel is something to see and it's a nice little trail walk to do and stop to have lunch or something. The reason it's not great in the fall is that the water levels are too high to cross the creek so the trail ends within a mile of its start. There is a huge log that you can cross "Dirty Dancing" style to keep going but it's slick and if your muddy shoes lose footing you are in some deepish water. So do this in the summer when the water feels nice. I took the alternate horse trail to make my hike longer and this was definitely more difficult and interesting, albeit incredibly muddy. It spits you out onto the road you drive in on and means you have a bit of a jaunt back to the trailhead via the main road.

Has a lot of trash, beer bottles and graffiti, trail was grown over some and if you go in the summer, lots of bugs, we had bugs swarming us almost the entire hike and I sprayed myself with anti-bug spray. Wasn't a lot of signs to give direction, had to ask people where it was located and other had to ask us when we were leaving

It was a great outing with the family. I hadn't been there for 20 plus years. Beautiful nature with facilities for just about anyone.

Great Hike! We took the short trail, and crossed the river on the rocks! Worth checking out, a lot of history!

There is so much more to this trail than this map outlines. You can pick the trail up from multiple places ( Dairy Ln, SR 682, and the Ridges hospital. Lots of wildlife, great year round! Not to strenuous, although there are some ups and downs along what it call the nature walk.

Nice trail and well maintained. Take time to educate yourself about the hospital and graveyard. Supposedly in the top ten haunted places in the US. Spend some time reading the headstones in the graveyard, many only have a number, no name. Sad.

Great hike! A lot of history. Get directions at lodge.

Great park. The place is well kept and clean. I started this trail, on the northeast end and walked along the south side of the lake. This side was very easy and flat. But, once over the dam, and you are on the north side, things get bushy and overgrown in places. There are several downed trees across the trail and it is a little more strenuous, with more up and downs. Will definitely return.

This was a long hike back through the woods. Myself, one of my sons and his girlfriend went here late at night, took no flash lights, had our phones only (lol) and wished otherwise. We all felt we experienced an entity there and definitely do believe that it is haunted. I won't go into the details of our trip, you must go there and experience it for yourself!!! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Awesome trail with a great tunnel of history. It's said to be haunted. Never been there at night, but I wouldn't go alone if it were at night. It's way out in the sticks. Make sure you bring lots of bug spray.

The first hiking experience on this loop is spooky if you take the time to learn the history of the area. After that, you learn it's a pretty good trail that is very well maintained. Spots like Radar Hill, the cemeteries, and the campus area makes this a fun hike.

Great trail, had to hop on and off the trail across the road once but overall didn't see many people and really enjoyed the day! Ate lunch on a small, private lakeshore beach. Went clockwise and the last leg of it, or the right side of the lake is a bit overgrown in parts. Still an amazing experience.

Very cool off trail spot if you can find it. Came across a geo caching box here. Beautiful views and a great hike!
