Pretty and not completely “easy”. We started on the Alder and took this trail where they meet up. Lots of shade and a few hills.

One of the neater trails I've found in the area in terms of terrain and scenery, and not much noise pollution from traffic until the last 1/4.

Wow. Nestled in the summit metro parks we found this gem of a hike. Not an easy start, but well worth the hill. Absolutely awesome forest scenery.

Love this trail!!! The exercise stations & run/walk signs give a full body and cardio workout!!! Very Convenient ❤️

Great trail, saw a snake.

Beautiful views, we went to the left first and enjoyed the climb. There was little to no water running so we had no trouble crossing areas that may have had runoff’s.

Nice, easy trail (good for kids). Lots of plants and animals to spot along the way. Features a pond and a suspension bridge.

Not a great trek. Close to road and trail was closed approximately 1.5 miles in. With all of the wonderful trails to enjoy, this one should be far down your list.

I love this trail! Awesome for trail running. A moderate amount of hills, lovely wildflowers in May, and some little stream hops. Super fun.

The river is great. If you start by going left you avoid having to hike up steps but you get a nice short but steep climb in and can end with a beautiful river view!

One of my favorite places to take pictures!!!!! Beautiful scenery. The trails are ok. Nothing really challenging but who cares. Litter chickadees will eat seed out of your hand. You can get the seed at the nature center. There are beautiful birds everywhere. Frogs and snakes too. I saw a cardinal hanging out with a squirrel. Like they were just standing next to each other like they were old friends. So beautiful.

Overcrowded and you can always hear the traffic. There’s good elevation here but it’s not really anything special. I’m pretty bored with the Sand Run area. Too many people. Too many dogs. Too many perverts. Pretty to look at but not really a good hike.

Me and my friend Amy do this trail all the time. We like it because it’s a little challenging and always empty. There’s never really anyone there whenever we go. There’s a set of stairs here and there’s also a nice elevation. Make sure your shoes are waterproof as you might or might not get wet crossing the river. I will most definitely be back.

This is one of the greatest trails I have ever done. The views from the top are beautiful and this trail is all about elevation. This trail also has the greatest set of stairs I’ve ever seen in the park system. I did them 3 times in a row and my legs were on fire. The trail is short but lots to see. You can actually walk into the creek and take some fantastic pictures. I can’t wait to go back.

Great trail! It's beautiful. There's a couple hills. I love how it's by the water.

My kids and I had a great time on this trail!! They especially liked the dried creek bed where we were able to build some rock towers!!

This trail would be more accurately described as moderate to difficult. Muddy sections after a rain; the trail crosses the Cuyahoga River and the towpath trail, as well as a few roads and trails in the Sand Run Park. Some sections are steep.

This is a nice historical trail that has come a long way in the past few years. The section from the parking lot along the road to the pond observation deck is fairly short (half a mile there, half a mile back) and very flat and grassy, so it would be good for those who have health problems or very young children and can't walk too far or deal with elevation changes. I don't think it could handle a wheel chair though, as it's not paved.

today was my first time on this trail and I loved it! Challenging for me, but doable and beautiful!

took my dog this morning and it was a good time. didnt enjoy the trailhead part that winds along the road, a bit too close to the trail and rather loud. The trail itself was nice and hilly, and parts of the trail were quite muddy.

Nice trail with decent elevations. I liked the creek crossings.

it is rated difficult at the park when you get there but not bad, but very muddy in places.

I’d rate this a 3.5. The back half of trail by the river was lovely. Nice opportunity for pics. We also enjoyed a few off trail adventures out on the bluffs. Perfect for dogs. Not too many people. A lot of trash near the river. We made this a 3.6 mile hike by exploring the bluffs and river. I’ll be back.
