Nice little trail for an evening stroll!

Hiked NCT-Radetzke-Valley View-North Fork-Little Twig-Nelson 80-Fire Pass-Pederson Hills for 10 miles according to Under Armour’s map my run app. Nice mix of open prairie and woods, was happy I dressed warm for an overcast 45 degree day. Had my border collie mix with and he did great as well!

Ranger trail walk/hike

This is a great trail. It is exactly what it says just under 2 miles round-trip. there were multiple trail markers and the entire experience was very enjoyable. If you go in the spring like we did the first time, I would definitely caution you to wear hiking boots rather than tennis shoes because it is rather muddy. It's not like this later in the summer though. I took my seven and eight-year-old daughters and they posted fantastic with no problems.

Partial Ravines Ravine stroll. Beautiful fall day. Walking with husband that is recovering from knee surgery. Took it slow and easy. There are a couple of steeper areas but he handled them without problems.

Great place for an afternoon hike but be sure to grab a nap at the visitor center because the app doesn't have a number of the trails marked.

went off the trail a bit and climbed some steep points but otherwise very nice hike. Saw many deer and critters along the way

Love the trails out here and they are never busy. Some wildlife and black snakes can be spotted. My fave is to start at the commissary, head out by the stables towards the blockhouses and make the entire loop around back to start point. Beautiful views every hike. Awesome rangers out there also.

This was a very nice scenic trail. Saw about 4 or 5 deer. When I went up the North Fork trail it was pretty steep, but doable, and going down the Redetzke trail was fun cause it was mostly all down hill. There were probably three spots I had to ride through some mud, but the rest was awesome! Had a blast!

Lots of different trails to try out within the park. Very well maintained.

Well maintained trails, a couple of muddy spots but all of those had work arounds. Very enjoyable.

❤❤❤love Turtle River.

Great trail for a light afternoon hike. The weather had recently been very wet, making the trail quite muddy and rocky in places, but still a lovely hike with nice scenery.

Beautiful trail, but you can hear all the local traffic. Easy walk, worth the trip.

What a great hike. Easy to distinguish trails. And the creek at the back of the hike was so relaxing to just stop and listen. Perfect weather, around 53 degrees.

Nice easy hike with great views and some cool history! I went on a nice warm december day so the trail was a mix of ice and mud (bring boots). the road was closed leading to the trail so you have to walk about 5 minutes up the hill to get to everything. Saw some wildlife and my dog had a blast running through the prairie grass

5 stars bc ND is so limited on nature trails. Great views!

Gorgeous scenery. Loved the ridges and the rolling prairie grass. Lightly traveled- even on a weekend, I was the only person hiking although the campground was full. Trails very well maintained.

Nice loop featuring good blufftop views of the Missouri River and downtown Bismarck. Also features the site of an 1800's military outpost. Mostly exposed to the sun, so bring water, hat, and sunscreen in summer. Overall, one of the best hikes in central North Dakota.

Great trail in state park!

As of 2018 the trail system is now over 10 miles. Most recently added is the Ravine Ravine. This trail is 2.5+ miles and has 2 water crossings. One of the water crossings has a bypass if you don't want to get your feet wet. This is a great getaway less then 20 miles west of Grand Forks ND. Park pass required, but worth every penny.

Camped. Hiked. Played in the river. Observed a lot of nature with the kids. Trails are narrow in many areas. Great for mountain biking. Camping areas are in wooded areas to stay cooler in the summer heat. Lots to see and do!

Went on Fort Lincoln’s Mother’s Day Hike. North Dakota can be pretty sometimes.

Great place to hike for a few hours. Well maintained with a few small senic views here and there. No real chance to go out and get lost though if that's what you are looking for.
