Nice mile trail to walk or jog, might be too muddy to bike in the winter. I recommend bringing a windbreaker if you’re planning on having lunch at the kayak launch since it’s very windy by the water (I had to learn that the hard way)

Very pretty park. The lake is beautiful and the trails off to the side are all well maintained and have their own gorgeous vibe.

Directions took me to a random school. Never found the trail.

What a great trail! We took our 9-year-old and he loved looking for all the fairies and gnomes along the way (there are so many!). Whomever did that, thank you! We added a bit at the end and ended up with 3.7 miles total. Well-maintained and clearly marked trail.

Greenfield lake is awesome in its own way! There are several homeless people so I wouldn’t go alone. I have been on the trail and have been approached by some of the people who “stay” out there. I think they were pretty harmless, but why risk it. During the day, it’s a mixed crowd of people. Cyclists, runners, and walkers are the majority, but there are those who simply sit and watch the gators too! And some doing drugs... just beware. While walking, you will encounter several bridges and observing decks! You’ll see lots and lots of turtles and alligators!!! There is a wide variety of plant species along the trail, as well as birds and other animals! The path is paved so no need to bring hiking boots, and it’s pretty flat! I always bring my binoculars to get a good look at the alligators! Take some water and apply the sunscreen, the trail is pretty shaded but there are some areas where the sun shines on ya pretty hard! There are decent restrooms, and there is a tennis court nearby too. After your walk, you should rent a paddle boat and putt around on the lake! It’s inexpensive and worth doing. The paddle boats have a canopy so you’re not in full sun! At the shed for paddle boat rentals, they do have water for sale.

I went for a run here while in town and was warned not to go at night because it’s dangerous. I would just say to stay aware of your surroundings. Keep your eyes open and head on a swivel. The views are pretty especially for being in the middle of town. I didn’t do the entire loop because I didn’t feel safe not knowing the area and just the strange vibe I got being there. Keep in mind I went on a Monday at 2pm when it wasn’t heavily trafficked(minus the homeless people).

Nice for running and walks.

Love this trail, and I’m pretty sure our golden retriever (Duke) loves it as well. He wanted me to throw sticks in the water for an hour so he could swim.

This is a very nicely paved trail, plenty of room for two lanes. There are opportunities throughout to go off the paved trail to do some woodsy explorations. There are benches along the trail and water fountains. Dogs are welcomed, however, despite there being several pet waste stations, there were several piles of dog shit along the trail. That’s not cool guys! On this hike, I saw lizards/skinks, caterpillars, and dogs.

Overall we enjoyed this trail. We took our six year old son and he was able to easily walk it. The main issue we had was with the trails not being marked very well. At tones we weren’t sure which way to go and ended up doing a figure 8 and completely missed the walk bridge. It was really clean though and I like that they had several trash cans along the way.... DON’T FORGET YOUR BUG SPRAY!!!!

Very simple, nice paved path. Great for dogs, kids and running.

It’s a great trail for children. I was able to show my son various plants and animals. There are signs that show you short cuts if you don’t want to walk the entire trail. There’s lots of shade too.

Flat and can use a stroller. Long trail if completed the loop for kids. Some areas in direct sun. Alligators present. Good day walk. Do not go at night unless local and know the area well.

Easy, fun walking trail with the kiddos and pup. There are gnomes and fairies hidden throughout.

Very clean trail, no fallen trees or any debris after Florence. Connecting neighborhood trails can cause some confusion so stay on the main trails if you don't know your way around. Recommend a hike on Sunday afternoon... The nearby church has bells that make for a very surreal experience amongst the fairy houses that pepper this trail....

Family walk, mushroom hunting.

Fully paved walkway around the lake, sometimes along busy roads. Lots of garbage and usually heavily trafficked. Gators in the lake so don’t let your dogs go swimming! Closest thing you get to a good walking trail in Wilmington.

Nice little trail and have walked it a few times over the years. It's even got several geocaches for those who like geocaching!

Within walking distance of my house and I frequently do my running here. The paved loop around the pond is relaxing and feels like a patch of nature in the suburbs. The nature path is well maintained and provides a small amount of solitude from domestic life, although the new neighborhood being built nearby is taking some of that away and some of the construction barriers overlap into the park and across the trail in one spot. Both the paved and nature paths are easy to walk and provide a minimal challenge.
