Swannanoa, North Carolina Map

We went today and the trail was closed on both sides of Warren Wilson Rd, with signs that said a long term closure is expected. I went a bit of the ways up the trail, past the closure signs, just to see, and there are lots of tree falls. According to a friend at WWC, parts of the trail were eradicated when they slid into the river during very bad flooding recently. Not sure what their plans are as far as restoring the trail. :-(

Sweet and mellow run along the river. Quite a few downed trees in the path. The obvious parking area is currently closed, and had I need been before, knowing where to park prob would have been confusing.

Very easy trail for the most part. Very enjoyable walk by the Swannanoa River.

Nice, easy walk through the woods!

Nice trail with the dogs. The trail head at Charles Owens park can be tricky to find. The doggos loved splashing around in the river. Low traffic this time of year which was a plus as much of the trial isn’t very wide. Was super sad to see invasive bamboo along most of the trail but otherwise beautiful and easy hike.

Easy trail that follows along the Swannanoa River. About 6 miles round trip. Connects to other trails owned by Warren Wilson College. Plenty of outlets to the river off trail. You'll run into some of the Warren Wilson students chillin' and smokin'.

I have driven this beautiful section of the Parkway many times. I have also hiked some of the trails along the road several times. Great views.

very easy hike and great for dogs..be prepared for your puppy to go swimming! can be busy during weekends, but still makes a nice hike

Try to go on a blue sky day! An AMAZING view!

great 6 mile out and back if you park at the baseball fields. pretty much flat with twists and turns that often funnel into a single track. several swimming holes along the route and connects to several other trails (although some are private). highly recommend for running or taking a dip in the river.

LOVE this trail. Farmland on one side, river on the other. Easy trail, great for kids, lots of opportunity to play in the river.

I went when it had been raining and it does get slippery and muddy in parts after rain but it is very calm and secluded and a nice run

Craggy Gardens to Mt. Pisgah is one of my favorite stretches of the BRP. Located on both sides of Asheville, great hikes include Mt. Pisgah, Craggy Gardens, and Craggy Pinnacle. You also can take a detour to the famous Biltmore Estate or stop for lunch in Asheville, maybe stay in luxury at the Grove Park Inn, or stay at the rustic Pisgah Inn. Lots of hiking and lots to see and do.

I love witnessing the amazing Parkway scenery on this section, completing some of the spectacular trails like Craggy Gardens/Craggy Pinnacle and Mt. Pisgah, and then ending the day exploring wonderful Asheville!

Drove through this section with a thunderstorm coming over the mountain, turning the visibility to very low. It was exciting.
