Really nice trail. This was my first visit. The trail was nice and quiet. When arriving from these directions, you'll enter from the neighborhood. Parking is very limited. However, there was very limited traffic. I did the loop and back, not the full trail. It was right at 4 miles. Recommend this trail. I will definitely be back.

Lots of roots to navigate over create a bumpy ride; no significant climbs or drops; decent bike trail through marshy clime that connects to other trails nearby.

A pleasant walk in the woods. Took the Bald Eagle and Loop trail (with a .5 mile dead end - my bad) from the south origin to the top of the trail for a total of 9.5 miles. Saw one bird and zero critters. Moderate level based on significant root beds and minor dips; you could run it but pretty rutty in places. Shaded pretty much the entire way and not much noise except planes taking off at GSO. Thanks to the team who keeps up the walkways - very sturdy and safe.

Good long hike, not much elevation change, very cool plants and a little wildlife including a baby deer, crane, and frogs.
I give it a 4 because lake views are very rare on the trail.

I love the trail.

Not the best scenery but I assume better in the summer or fall. Easy and nice hike.

Great hike, but be ready for the 8miles if you do the whole thing! I'd rate this as moderate just be a use of the length and the trail is full of roots to navigate. But a great hike!

I love this trail! Every time I go there is either no one around or one other person. The best way to enjoy a sunny afternoon

Great hike but be very cautious in the spring as the ticks are very bad.

Nice trail along Lake Higgins shoreline. Great spot to stop along the lake thanks to kind folks donating a couple of Adirondack chairs. Not a lot of wildlife. Few birds and squirrels. It was an unusually cool summer day in the mid 70's..
