Roseborough, North Carolina Map

This is a go-to trail for me, my partner and our two dogs. The dogs love the multiple river crossings, and during the summer the waterfalls are absolutely divine! No "views", but it's a perfect, low-trafficked trail in the forest. There are multiple great camping spots along the way. Just make sure to follow the trail (it's not marked) so bring a map!

What you may not know about Bee Mountain is that the entire area was used by the Special Forces Training Group to test its Communication Specialist. You may think it's anti-climatic, I on the other hand grew to respect the climb especially with 100 lbs of equipment on my back. At the top we would set up our radios and antennas to transmit back to Ft Bragg. We used this as our primary Communications Training site until about 1980

Bee mountain was anti-climatic. The mountain top has a thick canopy and there are no good views. The trail is about 8.5 miles with approx 1200ft elevation gain.

The Lost Cove creek section has several stream crossings. You will not be able to keep your feet dry. Recent rains can make the stream dangerous to cross. This is definitely NOT a cold weather hike. Huntfish falls is a great little swimming hole for the hot months though.

It took us 7.5 hours to complete the loop.
