on Moore Cove Falls Trail

The trail has easy access just off Hwy 276. Easy to moderate climb. The day we were there is was pretty busy. The falls are pretty cool, you can walk behind them which I thought was neat. We followed a side trail just of the base of the main falls and found another trail that took us another falls which we had all to ourselves.

If you are impaired and can't do the stairs go to the picnic shelter for a view of all 3 falls. Good place to take a break. Port a John on site.

Beautiful water and falls.

it was beautiful. Better than I expected! The hike wasn't hard. And my son loved it

Great 1 hour hike. The trail is well maintained but has narrowed a bit in spots over the past few years. Easy enough to hike with an 8 month old in a backpack carrier. Family friendly, not too busy.

Loved it you can swim and walk they the water

Good little hike. We had three kids 3,10 and 12 all did great. Loved the falls at end and sitting on the big rocks. Overall good hike.

The twin falls part is really the only part that loops. It’s more of an out and back trail to a loop. The falls make it worth it!!!! It was awesome. The trail doesn’t have a lot of parking so it’s not a busy trail. It’s very shady with lots of trees so it’s not to hot either!

Great hike, but go early on the weekends... add a mile by going all the way down to Hooker falls and go swimming. Steep hike back up but only for a quarter of a mile...

I took my kiddos hiking on this trail. My 11 & 14 year old loved it. It was a bit uphill on the way in but not bad at all. The waterfall was gorgeous. We climbed down to the falls & stood under it like a shower. We took lots of beautiful pictures. Loved this place.

Great to hop around the falls and explore in a very leisurely hiking atmosphere

Took my seven and eight year old sons - the trail had lots of fun water stops and the water fall was approachable and beautiful.

A lack of visible signage led to a wasted trip.

Overall an easy well graded trail, very nice drop onto a lower rock. No pool but a great mist and shower.

The parking lot is unimproved dirt and is medium sized so it fills quickly. (I was almost the first car in the lot when I got there and after hiking Hooker-Triple-High Falls the lot was packed and cars lined both sides of the road.) Hooker Falls Trail leads to a popular swimming area at the base of the falls and is only minutes from the parking lot. After an easy walk to view this small falls, double back, cross the bridge, and head uphill to the beautiful Triple Falls and further up to High Falls. At Triple Falls there is a long set of wooden steps that lead you to a flat rock landing between the 2nd and 3rd falls and is an excellent spot to view and photograph all three of the Triple Falls. (Don't miss this.) The viewing area has a single wire cable preventing visitors from straying too near the falls but kids could walk right under it. High Falls is a beautiful, long double cascade with a covered bridge at the top and can be easily seen from the viewing area along the trail.

A 1.4 mile round trip, easy trail to a beautiful and quaint waterfall.

Great easy trail, quick in and out, a good bit of hikers, fun rocks to climb and get great photos. M

Beautiful waterfall after a nice meandering moderate trail.

Great trail and can be done with kids!

I have hiked this easy trail a few times but I always found that a lot of people wasn't aware of Little Moore Cove Fall nearby.

The hike is super steep so wear the right shoes. Gorgeous falls and completely worth the hike.

Quick walk if you just want to see the falls.

Great views throughout the hike. Pretty easy for the most part. There are some awesome photo opportunities with the falls in the background as well!

easy hike well traveled trail it was no one there when we arrived but quickly became crowded so go early.

This use to be one of my favorite waterfalls but they had it roped off at the bottom of the stairs so you couldn’t walk out and chill on the rocks anymore.

A lot of fun

This hike is relatively short (about two miles round trip), and fairly crowded, but it is absolutely beautiful. There are a lot of steps, especially near the beginning, so it may be a bit challenging for someone who is new to hiking in the mountains. It was also pretty muddy in several places.

This is a fun and easy hike. We saw a number of multi-generational families enjoying the trail today. Definitely suggest adding the Hooker Falls hike to this loop. Hooker Falls has the best place to get in and enjoy a short but cold swim. Wear closed-toed shoes fir the hike though. The gravel is killer.

This trail was great! A little longer than expected. Also Holly Trail was closed last week so we weren’t able to get back to our car that way. We had to walk by the highway to get to the parking lot. But other than that, it was a great workout. Now that we’re more familiar with the way, we will definitely be going back!
