Very easy trail, especially with kids and a dog. The incline was a little rough for me because I am not used to it but take it easy. We enjoyed it and the refreshing water is nice to cool off in!

Highly recommend this trail. We went on a Thursday and still a good amount of people on the trail. I don’t think I would try it on a weekend. It was a pretty easy walk. Towards the end a little more tougher terrain for little one/pets. The view worth it!

The tower platform is still locked :( but the views and the breeze from the top of the stairs was more than worth the quick hike.

Lovely hike

Great easy hike with a fantastic payoff. Walked this trail on 8/12, a Monday, at 9am. Perfect as we head into Asheville so you are not a coveted in fort and sweat.

Beautiful waterfall, easy hike. Nice parking area, very crowded on a Saturday

Beautiful waterfall at the the end of a short trail. It was very crowded around the waterfall on a Friday afternoon. Would like to visit again in the early AM.

Beautiful trail and even more beautiful waterfall. Went on a Monday and it was a bit busy but not too crowded. Hiking past the caution is brutal but worth it!

trail condition as of 5 Aug 19 almost good, about half way the trail washed out about 1/4 the width of the trail {trail is paved and wide enough for a car so not a big deal and barricades have been placed} and about half mile from there heading up the trail the asphalt washed down to rough concrete for a short distance from the heavy rains we had over a year ago. the trees and mud / rock slides have all been cleared since the last time I have been on this trail. from the top or bottom of this trail it it a short distance by road to another trail if this wasn't enough for you.

Easy trail for the fam, an all ages type trail. We had a great time making our own path down the creek from the falls on our way back down. The boys call it “creek climbin”. Trail keeps close to the creek so is easy to divert and get back to walking. Fun hike, beautiful falls!

Great hike, if you’re in shape! First two miles are steep. The top is well worth it, but be careful - there are at least two large rattlesnakes that like to hang out on the rocks at the top of the trail.

Amazing trail!! Lots of fun. If you are more adventurous, make sure you make it to the end where actual fall is. There is some steep parts but it is so worth it!

Nice hike for family from 7 to 73!

This trail was more than I expected, thanks to the fact that it's a long gradual climb much if the time and a fairly rocky scramble for the last bit, but it's lovely along the way and the best waterfall I've seen when you arrive. Pretty much downhill on the way back, but be prepared to cross a stream and walk in the rocky pool at the top -- water shoes or a change of shoes might be best.

This was an amazing trail! It was well maintained and very challenging but doable for two 56 year olds. Creeks and small waterfalls were lovely!

Trail is in good shape. Plenty of water along the way for dogs. Shelter by Walkers Knob is good for hammocks and/or sleeping pads. Views weren’t overly exciting. Good workout.

Excellent hiking trail to the spectacular Catawba Falls. End of trail is very rocky and steep. However, not really a problem to negotiate. The view of the falls is worth it. Went on Saturday morning and it got VERY crowded. Best to go early on the weekends.

We went to the upper falls at noon on Friday. It was a challenging scramble after you cross the caution tape but very few people up top—we actually were alone for at least an hour. You’re sweaty and ready for a dip in the natural pool when you get up top. Beautiful!!!!

It’s a narrow, very steep path for most of the way. The waterfall that’s mentioned is about .25 miles in and is very small- more of a stream with some rocks. There’s a bees nest on the trail about .25 from the lookout point. Beautiful views at the top. Pack lots of water.
