First trail after knee surgery and a heart attack. I made it up to the Chimney Point.

Not as great as we were expecting. The trail is more of a short walk than a true hike. Very crowded and heavily trafficked.

Pretty, quiet and beautiful views.

Beautiful views, but lots of tourists. Easy walk to each site.

The whole family loved this trail. Nice easy hike with a wonderful view and good place to chill and relax at the end. Will definitely do this one again.

Nice, well-maintained trail, with beautiful falls at the end. The hike out is steep. Should be rated “Moderate”.

Short and sweet but very beautiful.

Loved it!! Took about an hour round trip including a lot of time spent at the four different overlooks. Amazing views of Linville Falls, Linville Gorge, and the chimneys. The trail is very easy and clear, would definitely do again!!! It’s actually 0.9 miles one way, so almost 2 miles total.

This took us 10 minutes to do. The terrain is pretty rugged with fallen trees and the creek/waterfall is very small. Not worth the time!

It’s worth it remember to see both sides of the falls! Then head to the North Carolina rock museum place up st Kings overland !!!! Learn about the geology of Linville!

Short and sweet with several beautiful falls down gorge.

Easy of hike as it gets!

Absolutely beautiful view at the end! Trail is uphill on the way back as well, but nothing too strenuous! We were lucky enough to see a pair of Peregrine falcons as well while up there. Great place to pack a snack and sit on the rocks while enjoying the scenery.

Stay on the trail. If you come to a widened trail used by a four wheeler..you passsed the turn right. Just follow the map on this app and your good! Awesome scene at the end

Great trip! Lots of beautiful scenery without being overly strenuous. Excellent for taking pics and for getting so exercise. My friend and I both have some injuries but were able to complete this hike without any problems. It's only an hour from my house, so I will definitely be doing it again!!

Started out as a simple down and back, see the Falls and climb back but there is so much more. While viewing the lower falls at 2 separate places which was great we saw people behind us at a much higher overlook. We climbed back to a midway point and began a .3 mile up to the top. Spectacular views from 2 different lookouts. You could see the bottom side of the falls as well as the downstream. Came back down and there is another midway point platform foe another great view. Kids were down at the bottom and apparently there is a lower parking lot that they are at ground level. This can be easy down and back but we did 2 miles overall and several stairs, up to the top view and the last hill to the parking lot was all we wanted especially after Hawksbill Mtn. This Falls surpassed all my expectations. Enjoy His presence.

Went on Labor Day. It was ok. If you have a family with small children or some seniors, this is a good trail to the falls.
Falls weren’t terribly impressive and the trail was super busy, we had to stop and wait in line a few times to get passed some narrow parts. We were never alone on the trail. Maybe it’s different on non-holidays.

loved it. high water so fantastic falls. hike is kid friendly.

I really enjoyed this trail! A nice, shaded walk down to the falls. I would rate it as moderate though. Even though it's short, the hike out is entirely uphill with some steep sections. The falls are gorgeous! I do recommend watching your step while playing around the rocks at the falls. Snakes enjoy sunning there. We stumbled upon two while there. We also saw lots of interesting mushrooms along the trail.

When you get there, they have tons of parking area with a gift shop and bathrooms. The hike is easy but some is uphill. Beautiful views! They keep the area very clean and have wide trails. A lot of people go there! I'll be going back for sure!

Nice short hike. Small falls but still worth the time.

Awesome waterfalls. Easy trails.

This is a super fantastic hike

Great hike with a slow incline over about a mile. Well maintained trail. The last view (Erwin’s view) is probably the best view of them all and is a distant view. If you can only get to the first overlook...you will still get a decent view.

Moderately difficult trail mainly due to wash out along the trail. Views at the end were great. Hiked early on a Saturday morning and only saw 2 other groups. Very limited parking at the trail head (maybe 4-5 spots). Trail forks near the end, stay left. Enjoyed the hike but will explore other trails in the area next time

The trails that pass through the Visitors Center, across the bridge, and up a mild incline include the Upper Falls View (where you are within a few feet of where the river flows down through the rocks before plunging over the falls), Chimney View (which is directly across from the Plunge Basin Overlook), Gorge View, and Erwin's View. All offer great views but Erwin's View has the best view straight into the falls although the most distant. I consider this hike to be easy for all ages and the viewing areas are all stone walled in and safe. If you follow this trail, take in all of the viewing areas and don't stop at the Upper Falls as the red line on the map suggests.

Great for all ages

Easy/Moderate hike to incredible view.

Absolutely adored this hike. Definitely uphill both ways, but manageable for an avid hiker. Lightly trafficked. The view was fabulous, probably one of my new favorite spots in Western North Carolina.

Absolutely beautiful place! Must visit if you’re in the area.
