Nice short hike. Small falls but still worth the time.

Great hike. we took the upper falls trail side to start (which is much easier section than the lower falls trail that starts on the other side of the parking lot) Once you get to the upper falls section you need to cross the water and go up to the next pool up for the rope swing and rock slide. we had a blast sliding down the rocks and using the rope swing. Then we took the trail the rest of the way down to the lower falls where there is a much longer rock slide. the second half of the loop back to the parking lot from the lower falls are switch backs the whole way (or you can take the many short cuts that go straight up if you want) Definitely a must see.

Best view you will see in North Carolina!! Relatively easy hike with a huge payoff. Highly recommended.

The end of the trail at the peak of the mountain makes the hike completely worth it! It's a gorgeous 360° view.

Awesome waterfalls. Easy trails.

This is a super fantastic hike

Great hike with a slow incline over about a mile. Well maintained trail. The last view (Erwin’s view) is probably the best view of them all and is a distant view. If you can only get to the first overlook...you will still get a decent view.

Moderately difficult trail mainly due to wash out along the trail. Views at the end were great. Hiked early on a Saturday morning and only saw 2 other groups. Very limited parking at the trail head (maybe 4-5 spots). Trail forks near the end, stay left. Enjoyed the hike but will explore other trails in the area next time

The trails that pass through the Visitors Center, across the bridge, and up a mild incline include the Upper Falls View (where you are within a few feet of where the river flows down through the rocks before plunging over the falls), Chimney View (which is directly across from the Plunge Basin Overlook), Gorge View, and Erwin's View. All offer great views but Erwin's View has the best view straight into the falls although the most distant. I consider this hike to be easy for all ages and the viewing areas are all stone walled in and safe. If you follow this trail, take in all of the viewing areas and don't stop at the Upper Falls as the red line on the map suggests.

Gets a little steep at the end, but the views are so worth it! When you get to the top, head right for an awesome panoramic view of the mountains! If you go to the left, you can scramble out to some rocks for really good views of Table Rock as well! We started the hike at about 1pm and there weren’t too many people up top which was nice!

First real trail we’ve hiked since moving to North Carolina. It’s definitely our new favorite hobby. We went down the lower trail first and somehow found out way back to the upper for a complete loop. It took us right about an hour. Beautiful views

A beautiful trail and destination! the view of the mountains from the upper falls and the water slide at the lower falls makes for an amazing hike.

a beautiful trail (would rate as moderate) that climbs steeply at the last bit for an amazing view! to the left is a great view of table rock and lots of jagged boulders to explore. to the right is a 360 degree view of the beautiful blue ridge mountains!

Steep and lots of roots. Beautiful scenery.

Great for all ages

Was a gorgeous view on top. Sure the gravel road to get there is a little sketch at times, and the hike itself gets really rocky. You'll know what I mean when you see it. Make SURE that when you get to the top, you go down BOTH trail paths. If you can't stand up, and turn 360 and see EVERYTHING with no obstructions or trees, you aren't there yet. There's a pretty awesome view of Table Rock that some might mistake for the top of the mountain. Open up your app and head back and then towards the summit for a breathtaking, and windy, view of the world.

Gorgeous views at the top. I was confused by the 2.1 out and back. It’s really about 1 mike up so 2 miles total with the up and back. I was glad for the map directions as you have to take a gravel road for about 3 miles to reach the trailhead.

Easy/Moderate hike to incredible view.

Absolutely adored this hike. Definitely uphill both ways, but manageable for an avid hiker. Lightly trafficked. The view was fabulous, probably one of my new favorite spots in Western North Carolina.

Absolutely beautiful place! Must visit if you’re in the area.

My wife and I are experienced hikers and do several hikes a year. That said I would rate this as a moderate to almost difficult trail. It is very poorly marked. We walked to the upper falls route going in and didn't see a blaze until we were almost down to the river. On the way out blazes were sporadic at best and many that were there were very faded. That said it was a great waterfall hike with a lot of off shoot trails that take you to several swimming holes. This is a good hike for everyone including families that are looking for some cool water swimming. We'll certainly return with our swimwear.

Super easy and short.
Great views.
If you think this is a difficult hike you should get into shape before commenting.

Breathtaking 360 views atop the mountain. Definitely a hidden gem.

Water was high when we were there. Great hike . Really enjoyed the views and falls .

Great view at the end! Like it has been mentioned, tough at the beginning and the end.

I loved this trail. It started thundering and we had three pups with us. The rain poured. I was still willing to finish to the end. We turned around at 1.2 miles approximately. There was a fork in the path. Did NOT know which way to go. Still do not know. I want to try again tomorrow so if anyone knows, it would be great information.

Amazing view of the valley on your left before reaching the summit on your right. When you make it to this point you’ll know what I’m talking about. Great views, good photo ops, dog friendly, and slightly difficult with a nice scramble to the top.

Trail is well marked. Six mile gravel road to the trailhead is scenic. The falls are beautiful and it is a great hang out spot for me and my dogs EXCEPT - SNAKES! Lots of these under the rock ledges today. Great swim spot though - GO EARLY for solitude.

So much fun!
